They gave Hebron to Caleb, as Moses had said, and he drove the three sons of Anak out of there.

As Moses had promised, Hebron was given to Caleb, who drove from it the three sons of Anak.

Moses had promised to give Hebron to Caleb. So Hebron was given to Caleb. He drove the three sons of Anak out of it.

And Hebron was given to Caleb, as Moses had said. And he drove out from it the three sons of Anak.

The town of Hebron was given to Caleb as Moses had promised. And Caleb drove out the people living there, who were descendants of the three sons of Anak.

Judah went against the Canaanites who lived in Hebron.( The name of Hebron before that was Kiriath Arba.) They struck Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai.

He gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Yahweh to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak( also called Hebron).Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak: Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

except Caleb the son of Jephunneh. He shall see it. I will give the land that he has trodden on to him and to his children, because he has wholly followed Yahweh.”

But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and has followed me fully, him I will bring into the land into which he went. His offspring shall possess it.

They gave them Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak( also called Hebron), in the hill country of Judah, with its pasture lands around it.But they gave the fields of the city and its villages to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.

They went up by the South, and came to Hebron; and Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were there.( Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

Moses swore on that day, saying,‘ Surely the land where you walked shall be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, because you have wholly followed Yahweh my God.’“ Now, behold, Yahweh has kept me alive, as he spoke, these forty- five years, from the time that Yahweh spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. Now, behold, I am eighty- five years old, today.As yet I am as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me. As my strength was then, even so is my strength now for war, to go out and to come in.Now therefore give me this hill country, of which Yahweh spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and great and fortified cities. It may be that Yahweh will be with me, and I shall drive them out, as Yahweh said.”Joshua blessed him; and he gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he followed Yahweh, the God of Israel wholeheartedly.
