The Lord was with the men of Judah. They took possession of the hill country, but they were unable to drive the people from the plains, because they had chariots fitted with iron.

The Lord was with the men of Judah. They took over the central hill country. But they weren’t able to drive the people out of the plains. That’s because those people used chariots that had some iron parts.

And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him,“ The Lord is with you, valiant warrior.”Then Gideon said to him,“ O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying,‘ Did the Lord not bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and handed us over to Midian.”

“ Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and they shall name Him Immanuel,” which translated means,“ God with us.”

And the Lord was with Joseph, so he became a successful man. And he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian.

I again saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift and the battle is not to the warriors, and neither is bread to the wise nor wealth to the discerning, nor favor to the skillful; for time and chance overtake them all.

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Then it came about, when Jabin king of Hazor heard about it, that he sent word to Jobab king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, to the king of Achshaph,and to the kings who were of the north in the hill country, and in the Arabah— south of Chinneroth and in the lowland, and on the heights of Dor on the west—to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the hill country, and the Hivite at the foot of Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.Then they came out, they and all their armies with them, as many people as the sand that is on the seashore, with very many horses and chariots.So all of these kings gathered together, and came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.Yet the Lord said to Joshua,“ Do not be afraid because of them, for tomorrow at this time I am going to turn all of them over to Israel as good as dead; you shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.”So Joshua and all the people of war with him came upon them suddenly at the waters of Merom, and attacked them.And the Lord handed them over to Israel, so that they defeated them, and pursued them as far as Great Sidon, and Misrephoth maim, and the Valley of Mizpeh to the east; and they struck them until no survivor was left to them.And Joshua did to them just as the Lord had told him; he hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.

Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said,“ Why could we not cast it out?”And He* said to them,“ Because of your meager faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain,‘ Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

The sons of Joseph then said,“ The hill country is not enough for us, but all the Canaanites who live in the valley land have iron chariots, both those who are in Beth shean and its towns and those who are in the Valley of Jezreel.”But Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and Manasseh, saying,“ You are a numerous people and have great power; you shall not have one lot only,but the hill country shall be yours. For though it is a forest, you shall clear it, and to its farthest borders it shall be yours; for you shall drive out the Canaanites, even though they have iron chariots and though they are strong.”

Now then, give me this hill country about which the Lord spoke on that day, for you heard on that day that Anakim were there, with great fortified cities; perhaps the Lord will be with me, and I will drive them out just as the Lord has spoken.”

No one will be able to oppose you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not desert you nor abandon you.

Devise a plan, but it will fail; State a proposal, but it will not stand, For God is with us.”

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariots with fire.

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will name Him Immanuel.

and he took six hundred select chariots, and all the other chariots of Egypt with officers over all of them.So the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he chased after the sons of Israel as the sons of Israel were going out boldly.Then the Egyptians chased after them with all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army, and they overtook them camping by the sea, beside Pi hahiroth, in front of Baal zephon.As Pharaoh approached, the sons of Israel looked, and behold, the Egyptians were coming after them, and they became very frightened; so the sons of Israel cried out to the Lord.Then they said to Moses,“ Is it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness!”But Moses said to the people,“ Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will perform for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again, ever.The Lord will fight for you, while you keep silent.”Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward.As for you, lift up your staff and reach out with your hand over the sea and divide it, and the sons of Israel shall go through the midst of the sea on dry land.And as for Me, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them; and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen.Then the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord, when I am honored through Pharaoh, through his chariots, and through his horsemen.”Then the angel of God, who had been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them.So it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud along with the darkness, yet it gave light at night. Therefore the one did not approach the other all night.Then Moses reached out with his hand over the sea; and the Lord swept the sea back by a strong east wind all night, and turned the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.So the sons of Israel went through the midst of the sea on the dry land, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right and on their left.Then the Egyptians took up the pursuit, and all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen went in after them into the midst of the sea.But at the morning watch, the Lord looked down on the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and brought the army of the Egyptians into confusion.He caused their chariot wheels to swerve, and He made them drive with difficulty; so the Egyptians each said,“ Let me flee from Israel, for the Lord is fighting for them against the Egyptians.”Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Reach out with your hand over the sea so that the waters may come back over the Egyptians, over their chariots and their horsemen.”So Moses reached out with his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its normal state at daybreak, while the Egyptians were fleeing right into it; then the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.The waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen, Pharaoh’s entire army that had gone into the sea after them; not even one of them remained.But the sons of Israel walked on dry land through the midst of the sea, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right and on their left.So the Lord saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.When Israel saw the great power which the Lord had used against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord, and they believed in the Lord and in His servant Moses.

David became greater and greater, for the Lord God of armies was with him.

But the Lord was with Joseph and extended kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the warden of the prison.

But Manasseh did not take possession of Beth shean and its villages, or Taanach and its villages, or the inhabitants of Dor and its villages, or the inhabitants of Ibleam and its villages, or the inhabitants of Megiddo and its villages; so the Canaanites persisted in living in this land.And it came about, when Israel became strong, that they put the Canaanites to forced labor; but they did not drive them out completely.And Ephraim did not drive out the Canaanites who were living in Gezer; so the Canaanites lived in Gezer among them.Zebulun did not drive out the inhabitants of Kitron, or the inhabitants of Nahalol; so the Canaanites lived among them and became subject to forced labor.Asher did not drive out the inhabitants of Acco, or the inhabitants of Sidon, or of Ahlab, or of Achzib, Helbah, Aphik, or of Rehob.So the Asherites lived among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land; for they did not drive them out.

The Lord of armies is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah

Therefore the sons of Israel cannot stand against their enemies; they turn their backs before their enemies, because they have become designated for destruction. I will not be with you anymore unless you eliminate from your midst the things designated for destruction.
