The LORD was with Judah and enabled them to take possession of the hill country, but they could not drive out the people who were living in the plain because those people had iron chariots.

The Lord was with the men of Judah. They took possession of the hill country, but they were unable to drive the people from the plains, because they had chariots fitted with iron.

The Lord was with the men of Judah. They took over the central hill country. But they weren’t able to drive the people out of the plains. That’s because those people used chariots that had some iron parts.

Then the angel of the LORD appeared to him and said,“ The LORD is with you, valiant warrior.”Gideon said to him,“ Please, my lord, if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened? And where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about? They said,‘ Hasn’t the LORD brought us out of Egypt?’ But now the LORD has abandoned us and handed us over to Midian.”

See, the virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name him Immanuel, which is translated“ God is with us.”

The LORD was with Joseph, and he became a successful man, serving in the household of his Egyptian master.

Again I saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, or the battle to the strong, or bread to the wise, or riches to the discerning, or favor to the skillful; rather, time and chance happen to all of them.

I am able to do all things through him who strengthens me.

The LORD was with him, and wherever he went he prospered. He rebelled against the king of Assyria and did not serve him.

Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel. I will help you”— this is the LORD’s declaration. Your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.See, I will make you into a sharp threshing board, new, with many teeth. You will thresh mountains and pulverize them and make hills into chaff.

But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out,“ Lord, save me!”Immediately Jesus reached out his hand, caught hold of him, and said to him,“ You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

When King Jabin of Hazor heard this news, he sent a message to: King Jobab of Madon, the kings of Shimron and Achshaph,and the kings of the north in the hill country, the Arabah south of Chinnereth, the Judean foothills, and the Slopes of Dor to the west,the Canaanites in the east and west, the Amorites, Hethites, Perizzites, and Jebusites in the hill country, and the Hivites at the foot of Hermon in the land of Mizpah.They went out with all their armies— a multitude as numerous as the sand on the seashore— along with a vast number of horses and chariots.All these kings joined forces; they came and camped together at the Waters of Merom to attack Israel.The LORD said to Joshua,“ Do not be afraid of them, for at this time tomorrow I will cause all of them to be killed before Israel. You are to hamstring their horses and burn their chariots.”So Joshua and all his troops surprised them at the Waters of Merom and attacked them.The LORD handed them over to Israel, and they struck them down, pursuing them as far as greater Sidon and Misrephoth-maim, and to the east as far as the Valley of Mizpeh. They struck them down, leaving no survivors.Joshua treated them as the LORD had told him; he hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots.

The LORD of Armies is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah

Then the disciples approached Jesus privately and said,“ Why couldn’t we drive it out?”“ Because of your little faith,” he told them.“ For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain,‘ Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

But the descendants of Joseph said,“ The hill country is not enough for us, and all the Canaanites who inhabit the valley area have iron chariots, both at Beth-shean with its surrounding villages and in the Jezreel Valley.”So Joshua replied to Joseph’s family( that is, Ephraim and Manasseh),“ You have many people and great strength. You will not have just one allotment,because the hill country will be yours also. It is a forest; clear it and its outlying areas will be yours. You can also drive out the Canaanites, even though they have iron chariots and are strong.”

Now give me this hill country the LORD promised me on that day, because you heard then that the Anakim are there, as well as large fortified cities. Perhaps the LORD will be with me and I will drive them out as the LORD promised.”

No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. I will be with you, just as I was with Moses. I will not leave you or abandon you.

Devise a plan; it will fail. Make a prediction; it will not happen. For God is with us.

Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

He makes wars cease throughout the earth. He shatters bows and cuts spears to pieces; he sets wagons ablaze.

Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign: See, the virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel.

he took six hundred of the best chariots and all the rest of the chariots of Egypt, with officers in each one.The LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the Israelites, who were going out defiantly.The Egyptians— all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots, his horsemen, and his army— chased after them and caught up with them as they camped by the sea beside Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon.As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up and there were the Egyptians coming after them! What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?Isn’t this what we told you in Egypt: Leave us alone so that we may serve the Egyptians? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.”But Moses said to the people,“ Don’t be afraid. Stand firm and see the LORD’s salvation that he will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians you see today, you will never see again.The LORD will fight for you, and you must be quiet.”The LORD said to Moses,“ Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to break camp.As for you, lift up your staff, stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.As for me, I am going to harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them, and I will receive glory by means of Pharaoh, all his army, and his chariots and horsemen.The Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I receive glory through Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”Then the angel of God, who was going in front of the Israelite forces, moved and went behind them. The pillar of cloud moved from in front of them and stood behind them.It came between the Egyptian and Israelite forces. There was cloud and darkness, it lit up the night, and neither group came near the other all night long.Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea. The LORD drove the sea back with a powerful east wind all that night and turned the sea into dry land. So the waters were divided,and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with the waters like a wall to them on their right and their left.The Egyptians set out in pursuit— all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen— and went into the sea after them.During the morning watch, the LORD looked down at the Egyptian forces from the pillar of fire and cloud, and threw the Egyptian forces into confusion.He caused their chariot wheels to swerve and made them drive with difficulty.“ Let’s get away from Israel,” the Egyptians said,“ because the LORD is fighting for them against Egypt!”Then the LORD said to Moses,“ Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the water may come back on the Egyptians, on their chariots and horsemen.”So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea returned to its normal depth. While the Egyptians were trying to escape from it, the LORD threw them into the sea.The water came back and covered the chariots and horsemen, plus the entire army of Pharaoh that had gone after them into the sea. Not even one of them survived.But the Israelites had walked through the sea on dry ground, with the waters like a wall to them on their right and their left.That day the LORD saved Israel from the power of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.When Israel saw the great power that the LORD used against the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD and believed in him and in his servant Moses.

David became more and more powerful, and the LORD God of Armies was with him.

But the LORD was with Joseph and extended kindness to him. He granted him favor with the prison warden.

At that time Manasseh failed to take possession of Beth-shean and Taanach and their surrounding villages, or the residents of Dor, Ibleam, and Megiddo and their surrounding villages; the Canaanites were determined to stay in this land.When Israel became stronger, they made the Canaanites serve as forced labor but never drove them out completely.At that time Ephraim failed to drive out the Canaanites who were living in Gezer, so the Canaanites have lived among them in Gezer.Zebulun failed to drive out the residents of Kitron or the residents of Nahalol, so the Canaanites lived among them and served as forced labor.Asher failed to drive out the residents of Acco or of Sidon, or Ahlab, Achzib, Helbah, Aphik, or Rehob.The Asherites lived among the Canaanites who were living in the land, because they failed to drive them out.

The LORD of Armies is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah

This is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies. They will turn their backs and run from their enemies, because they have been set apart for destruction. I will no longer be with you unless you remove from among you what is set apart.
