You too must be patient. You must remain strong. The Lord will soon come back.

Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray.

Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.

But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another— and all the more as you see the Day approaching.If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?For we know him who said,“ It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again,“ The Lord will judge his people.”It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you endured in a great conflict full of suffering.Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated.You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.For,“ In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.”

“ I look for your deliverance, Lord.

For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.

May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.

But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead— Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

He who testifies to these things says,“ Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
