You have condemned, you have murdered the righteous, who does not resist you.

You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.

You have judged and murdered people who aren’t guilty. And they weren’t even opposing you.

You have condemned and murdered the righteous person. He does not resist you.

You have condemned and killed innocent people, who do not resist you.

You have condemned and put to death the righteous person; he offers you no resistance.

You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not resist you.

Ye have condemned, ye have killed the righteous one; he doth not resist you.

You have condemned— you have murdered— the righteous man; he does not resist you.

Ye have condemned[ and] killed the just;[ and] he doth not resist you.

You have condemned and murdered the righteous person, although he does not resist you.

You have condemned and you have murdered the righteous one. He doesn’t resist you.

He did not commit sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth;when he was insulted, he did not insult in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten but entrusted himself to the one who judges justly.

Now the Scripture passage he was reading was this: He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb is silent before its shearer, so he does not open his mouth.

He went back into the headquarters and asked Jesus,“ Where are you from?” But Jesus did not give him an answer.So Pilate said to him,“ Do you refuse to speak to me? Don’t you know that I have the authority to release you and the authority to crucify you?”“ You would have no authority over me at all,” Jesus answered him,“ if it hadn’t been given you from above. This is why the one who handed me over to you has the greater sin.”

But Jesus responded,“ No more of this!” And touching his ear, he healed him.Then Jesus said to the chief priests, temple police, and the elders who had come for him,“ Have you come out with swords and clubs as if I were a criminal?Every day while I was with you in the temple, you never laid a hand on me. But this is your hour— and the dominion of darkness.”

“ Fellow Israelites, listen to these words: This Jesus of Nazareth was a man attested to you by God with miracles, wonders, and signs that God did among you through him, just as you yourselves know.Though he was delivered up according to God’s determined plan and foreknowledge, you used lawless people to nail him to a cross and kill him.

But I tell you, don’t resist an evildoer. On the contrary, if anyone slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.

You desire and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and wage war. You do not have because you do not ask.

He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth. Like a lamb led to the slaughter and like a sheep silent before her shearers, he did not open his mouth.

You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked to have a murderer released to you.You killed the source of life, whom God raised from the dead; we are witnesses of this.

who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and persecuted us. They displease God and are hostile to everyone,by keeping us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. As a result, they are constantly filling up their sins to the limit, and wrath has overtaken them at last.

But my righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him.

And he said,‘ The God of our ancestors has appointed you to know his will, to see the Righteous One, and to hear the words from his mouth,

let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified and whom God raised from the dead— by him this man is standing here before you healthy.This Jesus is the stone rejected by you builders, which has become the cornerstone.There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved.”

This is why I am sending you prophets, sages, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town.So all the righteous blood shed on the earth will be charged to you, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar.

They will ban you from the synagogues. In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering service to God.They will do these things because they haven’t known the Father or me.

Which of the prophets did your ancestors not persecute? They even killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become.

Since the residents of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize him or the sayings of the prophets that are read every Sabbath, they have fulfilled their words by condemning him.Though they found no grounds for the death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him killed.

Yet you have dishonored the poor. Don’t the rich oppress you and drag you into court?

When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that a riot was starting instead, he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd, and said,“ I am innocent of this man’s blood. See to it yourselves!”All the people answered,“ His blood be on us and on our children!”

The chief priests and the elders, however, persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to execute Jesus.

Or do you think that I cannot call on my Father, and he will provide me here and now with more than twelve legions of angels?How, then, would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?”

“ But when the tenant farmers saw the son, they said to each other,‘ This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and take his inheritance.’
