A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

These six[ things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven[ are] an abomination unto him:A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

When[ men] are cast down, then thou shalt say,[ There is] lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.For the day of the LORD of hosts[ shall be] upon every[ one that is] proud and lofty, and upon every[ one that is] lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works[ are] truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

By humility[ and] the fear of the LORD[ are] riches, and honour, and life.

And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name[ is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy[ place], with him also[ that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified[ rather] than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

The fear of the LORD[ is] the instruction of wisdom; and before honour[ is] humility.

And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,

And humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.

He hath put down the mighty from[ their] seats, and exalted them of low degree.

And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:

Now I know that the LORD[ is] greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly[ he was] above them.

Deck thyself now[ with] majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one[ that is] proud, and abase him.Look on every one[ that is] proud,[ and] bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.

For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.

When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.

His prayer also, and[ how God] was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they[ are] written among the sayings of the seers.

The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.
