Women in like manner must be grave, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.

So that the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good.Did then that which is good become death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good;— that through the commandment sin might become exceeding sinful.

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Howbeit, I had not known sin, except through the law: for I had not known coveting, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet:

Let not him that eateth set at nought him that eateth not; and let not him that eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.Who art thou that judgest the servant of another? to his own lord he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be made to stand; for the Lord hath power to make him stand.

for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified;

But he that looketh into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and so continueth, being not a hearer that forgetteth but a doer that worketh, this man shall be blessed in his doing.

that aged women likewise be reverent in demeanor, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding your own selves.For if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror:
