What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is the source not your pleasures that wage war in your body’s parts?

你們中間爭戰從哪兒來，鬥毆從哪兒來呢？豈不是從那在你們肢體中交戰的宴樂慾而來的麼？

你們中間的衝突是從哪裡來的？爭執是從哪裡來的？難道不是從你們身體各部分中交戰的私慾而來的嗎？

爾中之戰鬥爭競、奚自哉、非自戰於爾百體中之慾乎、

戰鬥爭競、何自而來、非欲戰於中而生乎、

爾中戰鬥爭競、何自而來、非自戰於爾百體中之慾乎、

爾中一切鬥爭紛擾、果何由而起？非由爾之情慾交戰於內乎？

What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?

Why do you fight and argue among yourselves? Isn’t it because of your sinful desires? They fight within you.

What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you?

What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you?

What is the source of wars and fights among you? Don’t they come from your passions that wage war within you?

Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?

Whence come wars and whence come fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your pleasures that war in your members?

What is the source of wars and fights among you? Don’t they come from the cravings that are at war within you?

From whence[ come] wars and fightings among you?[ come they] not hence,[ even] of your lusts that war in your members?

Where do the conflicts and where do the quarrels among you come from? Is it not from this, from your passions that battle inside you?

Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don’t they come from your pleasures that war in your members?

Beloved, I urge you as foreigners and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts, which wage war against the soul.

but I see a different law in the parts of my body waging war against the law of my mind, and making me a prisoner of the law of sin, the law which is in my body’s parts.

For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, in order to keep you from doing whatever you want.

But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.

You ask and do not receive, because you ask with the wrong motives, so that you may spend what you request on your pleasures.

“ The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?

For from within, out of the hearts of people, come the evil thoughts, acts of sexual immorality, thefts, murders, acts of adultery,deeds of greed, wickedness, deceit, indecent behavior, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness.All these evil things come from within and defile the person.”

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human lusts, but for the will of God.For the time already past is sufficient for you to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles, having pursued a course of indecent behavior, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties, and wanton idolatries.

But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are useless and worthless.

but for Cain and his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his face was gloomy.Then the Lord said to Cain,“ Why are you angry? And why is your face gloomy?If you do well, will your face not be cheerful? And if you do not do well, sin is lurking at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.”Cain talked to his brother Abel; and it happened that when they were in the field Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him.

Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.The world is passing away and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God continues to live forever.

For, while speaking out arrogant words of no value they entice by fleshly desires, by indecent behavior, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error,

Therefore, treat the parts of your earthly body as dead to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance,

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, acts of adultery, other immoral sexual acts, thefts, false testimonies, and slanderous statements.

These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage.But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ,that they were saying to you,“ In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.”

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic.For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace loving, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, free of hypocrisy.And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

For while we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were brought to light by the Law, were at work in the parts of our body to bear fruit for death.

because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so,

Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts,

he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a sick craving for controversial questions and disputes about words, from which come envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions,and constant friction between people of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain.But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment.For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it, either.If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge people into ruin and destruction.For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies.
