爾中之戰鬥爭競、奚自哉、非自戰於爾百體中之慾乎、

戰鬥爭競、何自而來、非欲戰於中而生乎、

爾中戰鬥爭競、何自而來、非自戰於爾百體中之慾乎、

爾中一切鬥爭紛擾、果何由而起？非由爾之情慾交戰於內乎？

What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?

Why do you fight and argue among yourselves? Isn’t it because of your sinful desires? They fight within you.

What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you?

What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you?

What is the source of wars and fights among you? Don’t they come from your passions that wage war within you?

What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is the source not your pleasures that wage war in your body’s parts?

Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?

Whence come wars and whence come fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your pleasures that war in your members?

From whence[ come] wars and fightings among you?[ come they] not hence,[ even] of your lusts that war in your members?

Where do the conflicts and where do the quarrels among you come from? Is it not from this, from your passions that battle inside you?

Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don’t they come from your pleasures that war in your members?

Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and temporary residents to abstain from fleshly desires that war against you.

But I see a different law in the parts of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and taking me prisoner to the law of sin in the parts of my body.

For the flesh desires what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit desires what is against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you don’t do what you want.

But each person is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own evil desires.

You ask and don’t receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your evil desires.

The heart is more deceitful than anything else, and incurable— who can understand it?

For from within, out of people’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immoralities, thefts, murders,adulteries, greed, evil actions, deceit, promiscuity, stinginess, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.All these evil things come from within and defile a person.”

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved by various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another.

in order to live the remaining time in the flesh, no longer for human desires, but for God’s will.For there has already been enough time spent in doing what the pagans choose to do: carrying on in unrestrained behavior, evil desires, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and lawless idolatry.

But avoid foolish debates, genealogies, quarrels, and disputes about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.

but He did not have regard for Cain and his offering. Cain was furious, and he looked despondent.Then the Lord said to Cain,“ Why are you furious? And why do you look despondent?If you do what is right, won’t you be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door. Do not love the world or the things that belong to the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.For everything that belongs to the world— the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride in one’s lifestyle— is not from the Father, but is from the world.And the world with its lust is passing away, but the one who does God’s will remains forever.

For by uttering boastful, empty words, they seduce, with fleshly desires and debauchery, people who have barely escaped from those who live in error.

Therefore, put to death what belongs to your worldly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed, which is idolatry.

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance.

For from the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies.

These people are discontented grumblers, walking according to their desires; their mouths utter arrogant words, flattering people for their own advantage.But you, dear friends, remember what was predicted by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;they told you,“ In the end time there will be scoffers walking according to their own ungodly desires.”

But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t brag and deny the truth.Such wisdom does not come from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.For where envy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every kind of evil.But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without favoritism and hypocrisy.And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who cultivate peace.

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions operated through the law in every part of us and bore fruit for death.

For the mind-set of the flesh is hostile to God because it does not submit itself to God’s law, for it is unable to do so.

First, be aware of this: Scoffers will come in the last days to scoff, living according to their own desires,

he is conceited, understanding nothing, but has a sick interest in disputes and arguments over words. From these come envy, quarreling, slander, evil suspicions,and constant disagreement among people whose minds are depraved and deprived of the truth, who imagine that godliness is a way to material gain.But godliness with contentment is a great gain.For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out.But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with these.But those who want to be rich fall into temptation, a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge people into ruin and destruction.For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and by craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pains.

You are of your father the Devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of liars.
