如是舌為小體、而能誇大、薪甚多、薪甚多或作林甚茂微火可燃、

舌在人身、亦復如是其形雖小、其誇實大。星星之火、可以燎原；

Why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero? Why do you boast all day long, you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God?You who practice deceit, your tongue plots destruction; it is like a sharpened razor.

The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

They said,“ Come, let’s make plans against Jeremiah; for the teaching of the law by the priest will not cease, nor will counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophets. So come, let’s attack him with our tongues and pay no attention to anything he says.”

The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months.It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.

These people are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.

And you have said,“ With my many chariots I have ascended the heights of the mountains, the utmost heights of Lebanon. I have cut down its tallest cedars, the choicest of its junipers. I have reached its remotest parts, the finest of its forests.I have dug wells in foreign lands and drunk the water there. With the soles of my feet I have dried up all the streams of Egypt.”

Yet they say to God,‘ Leave us alone! We have no desire to know your ways.Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What would we gain by praying to him?’

For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of the flesh, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error.

Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?”

Pharaoh said,“ Who is the Lord, that I should obey him and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord and I will not let Israel go.”

Speak to him and say:‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says:“‘ I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, you great monster lying among your streams. You say,“ The Nile belongs to me; I made it for myself.”
