照樣，舌頭雖然是身體上一個小小的部分，卻能大大地自誇。看哪，那麼小的火，能點燃那麼大的森林！

如是、舌為小體、而誇大焉、些須之火、能燃若大之林、

舌雖小而能誇大、薪甚多、微火可燃、

如是舌為小體、而能誇大、薪甚多、薪甚多或作林甚茂微火可燃、

舌在人身、亦復如是其形雖小、其誇實大。星星之火、可以燎原；

Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.

In the same way, the tongue is a small part of a person’s body. But it talks big. Think about how a small spark can set a big forest on fire.

So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!

So too, though the tongue is a small part of the body, it boasts great things. Consider how a small fire sets ablaze a large forest.

So too, though the tongue is a small part of the body, it boasts great things. Consider how large a forest a small fire ignites.

Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.

and there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and there was given to him authority to continue forty and two months.And he opened his mouth for blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, even them that dwell in the heaven.

These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their lusts( and their mouth speaketh great swelling words), showing respect of persons for the sake of advantage.

The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; My desire shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.

The king spake and said, Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for the royal dwelling- place, by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?

Who said unto God, Depart from us; And, What can the Almighty do for us?

Whom hast thou defied and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.By thy messengers thou hast defied the Lord, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice fir- trees thereof; and I will enter into his farthest lodging- place, the forest of his fruitful field.I have digged and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet will I dry up all the rivers of Egypt.

And they say unto God, Depart from us; For we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? And what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?

For, uttering great swelling words of vanity, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by lasciviousness, those who are just escaping from them that live in error;

Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made, well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that god that shall deliver you out of my hands?

And Pharaoh said, Who is Jehovah, that I should hearken unto his voice to let Israel go? I know not Jehovah, and moreover I will not let Israel go.

speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lieth in the midst of his rivers, that hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.
