We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.

All of us get tripped up in many ways. Suppose someone is never wrong in what they say. Then they are perfect. They are able to keep their whole body under control.

For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body.

Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.

若有人自以为虔诚，却不勒住自己的舌头，反欺骗自己的心，这人的虔诚是徒然的。

因为经上说：“凡要爱惜生命、享受好日子的人，要禁止舌头不出恶言，嘴唇不说诡诈的话。

因为要凭你的话定你为义，也要凭你的话定你有罪。”

同样，舌头是小肢体，却能说大话。看哪，最小的火能点燃最大的树林。舌头就是火。在我们百体中，舌头是个不义的世界，能玷污全身，也能烧毁生命的轮子，而且是被地狱的火点燃的。

“你的百姓若得罪你，因为没有人不犯罪，你向他们发怒，把他们交在仇敌面前，掳他们的人把他们带到仇敌之地，或远或近，

但要让忍耐发挥完全的功用，使你们能又完全又完整，一无所缺。

但圣经把万物都圈在罪里，为要使因信耶稣基督而来的应许归给信的人。

其实世上没有行善而不犯罪的义人。

就如经上所记：“没有义人，连一个也没有。

你要禁止舌头不出恶言，嘴唇不说诡诈的话。

谁能说：“我已经洁净了我的心，脱净了我的罪？”

我觉得有个律，就是我愿意行善的时候，就有恶缠着我。

我克制己身，使它完全顺服，免得我传福音给别人，自己反而被淘汰了。

我们都如不洁净的人，所行的义都像污秽的衣服。我们如叶子渐渐枯干，罪孽像风把我们吹走。

我们传扬他，是用诸般的智慧，劝戒各人，教导各人，要把各人在基督里完完全全地献上。

“你的百姓若得罪你，因为没有人不犯罪，你向他们发怒，把他们交在仇敌面前，掳他们的人把他们带到或远或近之地；

因为肉体的情欲和圣灵相争，圣灵和肉体相争，这两个彼此敌对，使你们不能做所愿意做的。

因为凡遵守全部律法的，只违背了一条就是违犯了所有的律法。

在各样善事上装备你们，使你们遵行他的旨意；又藉着耶稣基督在我们里面行他所喜悦的事。愿荣耀归给他，直到永永远远。阿们！

有一位你们那里的人，作基督耶稣仆人的以巴弗问候你们。他祷告的时候常为你们竭力祈求，愿你们能站稳而成熟，充分确信上帝一切的旨意。

那赐一切恩典的上帝曾在基督里召了你们，得享他永远的荣耀，在你们暂受苦难之后，必要亲自成全你们，坚固你们，赐力量给你们，建立你们。
