“你们让一棵树好，它的果子就好；你们让一棵树坏，它的果子就坏；这样，一棵树是凭着果子被认出来。

如果初熟的麦子是圣洁的，那面团也就圣洁了；如果树根是圣洁的，那树枝也就圣洁了。但如果有些树枝被折下来，而你这野橄榄枝被接在其上，并且一同有份于那橄榄树根的丰富养分，那么你就不应该向那些树枝自夸了。而就算你自夸，也不是你托着树根，而是树根托着你。

他翻松园地，清除石头，栽种了上好的葡萄树，并在园中建造了一座守望楼，又开凿了一个榨酒池。他指望结出好葡萄，却结出了野葡萄。耶路撒冷的居民和犹大人哪，现在请你们在我与葡萄园之间做判断！为了我的葡萄园，还有什么该做的事我没有做呢？我指望结出好葡萄，为什么却结出了野葡萄呢？
