Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly.

兄弟勿好為人師、知為師者、被鞫尤嚴、

兄弟乎、爾曹不宜多人為師、蓋我儕為師者被鞫更嚴、

兄弟中多有好為人師者、是亦謬甚。應知為師者、責任最重。

Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

My brothers and sisters, most of you shouldn’t become teachers. That’s because you know that those of us who teach will be held more accountable.

Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.

Not many should become teachers, my brothers, because you know that we will receive a stricter judgment.

Do not become teachers in large numbers, my brothers, since you know that we who are teachers will incur a stricter judgment.

My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.

Be not many of you teachers, my brethren, knowing that we shall receive heavier judgment.

Not many should become teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive a stricter judgment,

My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters, because you know that we will be judged more strictly.

Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive heavier judgment.

They want to be known as teachers of the law of Moses, but they don’t know what they are talking about, even though they speak so confidently.

“ And a servant who knows what the master wants, but isn’t prepared and doesn’t carry out those instructions, will be severely punished.But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.

“ What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either.

“ Don’t let anyone call you‘ Rabbi,’ for you have only one teacher, and all of you are equal as brothers and sisters.And don’t address anyone here on earth as‘ Father,’ for only God in heaven is your Father.And don’t let anyone call you‘ Teacher,’ for you have only one teacher, the Messiah.

Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example.

For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself.That is why many of you are weak and sick and some have even died.But if we would examine ourselves, we would not be judged by God in this way.Yet when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned along with the world.

Here are some of the parts God has appointed for the church: first are apostles, second are prophets, third are teachers, then those who do miracles, those who have the gift of healing, those who can help others, those who have the gift of leadership, those who speak in unknown languages.

And I have been chosen as a preacher and apostle to teach the Gentiles this message about faith and truth. I’m not exaggerating— just telling the truth.

“ Now, son of man, I am making you a watchman for the people of Israel. Therefore, listen to what I say and warn them for me.If I announce that some wicked people are sure to die and you fail to tell them to change their ways, then they will die in their sins, and I will hold you responsible for their deaths.But if you warn them to repent and they don’t repent, they will die in their sins, but you will have saved yourself.

Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.

For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.

Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit.

Then Moses said to Aaron,“ This is what the Lord meant when he said,‘ I will display my holiness through those who come near me. I will display my glory before all the people.’” And Aaron was silent.

And God chose me to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of this Good News.

So the employer called him in and said,‘ What’s this I hear about you? Get your report in order, because you are going to be fired.’

You think you can instruct the ignorant and teach children the ways of God. For you are certain that God’s law gives you complete knowledge and truth.Well then, if you teach others, why don’t you teach yourself? You tell others not to steal, but do you steal?

“ Students are not greater than their teacher, and slaves are not greater than their master.

I declare today that I have been faithful. If anyone suffers eternal death, it’s not my fault,for I didn’t shrink from declaring all that God wants you to know.

“ Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven.

Now, a person who is put in charge as a manager must be faithful.As for me, it matters very little how I might be evaluated by you or by any human authority. I don’t even trust my own judgment on this point.My conscience is clear, but that doesn’t prove I’m right. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide.So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time— before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due.

“ Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.

“ Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for Israel. Whenever you receive a message from me, warn people immediately.If I warn the wicked, saying,‘ You are under the penalty of death,’ but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths.

But when the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples,“ Why does your teacher eat with such scum?”

Among the prophets and teachers of the church at Antioch of Syria were Barnabas, Simeon( called“ the black man”), Lucius( from Cyrene), Manaen( the childhood companion of King Herod Antipas), and Saul.

May the Lord cut off from the nation of Israel every last man who has done this and yet brings an offering to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Jesus replied,“ You are a respected Jewish teacher, and yet you don’t understand these things?
