And the scripture was fulfilled that says,“ Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.

That is what Scripture means where it says,“ Abraham believed God. God accepted Abraham because he believed. So his faith made him right with God.”( Genesis 15:6) And that’s not all. God called Abraham his friend.

and the Scripture was fulfilled that says,“ Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”— and he was called a friend of God.

And so it happened just as the Scriptures say:“ Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God.

For what does the Scripture say?“ Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”Now to the one who works, the wages are not credited as a favor, but as what is due.But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,just as David also speaks of the blessing of the person to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

Therefore it was also credited to him as righteousness.Now not for his sake only was it written that it was credited to him,but for our sake also, to whom it will be credited, to us who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,

Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends.You are My friends if you do what I command you.No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.

So the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses returned to the camp, his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent.

And they* crucified two rebels with Him, one on His right and one on His left.

Now He began to say to them,“ Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

That one might plead for a man with God As a son of man with his neighbor!

Have you not even read this Scripture:‘ A stone which the builders rejected, This has become the chief cornerstone;

For the Scripture says to Pharaoh,“ For this very reason I raised you up, in order to demonstrate My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed throughout the earth.”

The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying,“ All the nations will be blessed in you.”So then, those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer.For all who are of works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written:“ Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all the things written in the book of the Law, to do them.”

God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?

How then was it credited? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised;and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them,

“ Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.

But the Scripture has confined everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness;

For this is contained in Scripture:“ Behold, I am laying in Zion a choice stone, a precious cornerstone, And the one who believes in Him will not be put to shame.”
