And the scripture was fulfilled that says,“ Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.

That is what Scripture means where it says,“ Abraham believed God. God accepted Abraham because he believed. So his faith made him right with God.”( Genesis 15:6) And that’s not all. God called Abraham his friend.

And so it happened just as the Scriptures say:“ Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God.

亞伯蘭信主、主以此為其義、

惟爾以色列我之僕、我所選之雅各、我所眷愛亞伯拉罕之苗裔、

我之天主歟、在昔將原居斯土之諸族、逐於主之民以色列人前、以斯土賜於敬愛主敬愛主或作主之友亞伯拉罕之苗裔、使為恆業、

即如亞伯拉罕信天主、其信遂視為其義、

經何云、亞伯拉罕信天主、天主即視此為亞伯拉罕之義、凡行者得賞、非由恩也、由所宜也、不行而信稱罪人為義之主、則其信稱為義、人不因所行蒙天主稱義、大衛亦謂其有福、

故其信即視為其義、亞伯拉罕之信視為義、經載此言、不但為彼、亦為我儕、我儕若信使我主耶穌基督由死復活之天主、則我儕之信、亦必視為我儕之義、

人為友舍命、愛未有大於此者、爾遵行我所命爾者、即為我友、我不復稱爾為僕、蓋僕不知主人所行、我稱爾為友、緣我以所聞於我父者示爾、

主與摩西覿面相語、如人與友言、摩西歸營、惟侍摩西者嫩之子少者約書亞不離其幕、○

又將二盜同釘十字架或作釘耶穌時又用兩十字架釘二盜一左一右、

耶穌謂眾曰、爾聞是經、今日應矣、

願世人得與天主辯論、如人與人辯論然、

經載云、工師所棄之石、成為屋隅首石、

經載主語法老曰、我立爾、特為以爾顯示我能、使我名傳揚於天下、

按經所載、天主預知後將使異邦人、由信稱義、故預傳福音於亞伯拉罕曰、萬族將藉爾受福、如是、信主者與信主之亞伯拉罕同受福矣、凡恃行律法之功者、皆服詛、蓋經載云、凡不恆遵律法書所載而盡行之者、服詛也、

天主未棄其所預知之民、爾豈不知經所載論以利亞乎、其訟以色列人籲天主曰、

何時視為義、受割禮之後乎、抑受割禮之前乎、非受割禮之後、乃受割禮之前、彼受割禮之號、即未受割禮時、因信而稱義之印證、使其為凡未受割禮而信者之父、使彼亦得稱義、

兄弟、昔聖神以大衛口預言引人執耶穌之猶大、其經應驗宜也、

但按經、萬人皆在罪中、使所許之福、由信耶穌基督、可賜於諸信者、

聖經皆由天主默示所作、有益於教誨督責、使人歸正、教人學義、

如經載云、我以所選所寶之屋隅要石、置於郇城、凡信之者、不致羞愧、
