Now someone may argue,“ Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say,“ How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”

Yea, a man will say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith apart from thy works, and I by my works will show thee my faith.

But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from a sincere faith.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people,instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age,looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, eager for good deeds.

Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.

What use is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone says he has faith, but he has no works? Can that faith save him?

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love.

You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected;and the Scripture was fulfilled which says,“ And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God.You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.In the same way, was Rahab the prostitute not justified by works also when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?

For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him.

If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

Therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
