and one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?

爾中或語之曰、安然而往、願爾溫飽、而不予以身之所需、則何益哉、

而爾曰、安然以往、願爾得溫飽、如不以彼所需賜之、何益之有、

爾中有人謂之曰、安然以往、願爾溫飽、不以其身所需予之、何益之有、

而爾謂之曰：『安心以去、吾信汝必得溫飽；』而不給以切身所需之物、則亦何所裨益。

If one of you says to them,“ Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?

Suppose one of you says to them,“ Go. I hope everything turns out fine for you. Keep warm. Eat well.” And suppose you do nothing about what they really need. Then what good have you done?

and one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?

and you say,“ Good bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”— but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?

and one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it?

and one of you says to them,“ Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?

and one of you say unto them, Go in peace, be ye warmed and filled; and yet ye give them not the things needful to the body; what doth it profit?

and one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it?

And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be[ ye] warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what[ doth it] profit?

and one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, keep warm and eat well,” but you do not give them what the body needs, what good is it?

and one of you tells them,“ Go in peace. Be warmed and filled;” yet you didn’t give them the things the body needs, what good is it?

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in your power to do it.Do not say to your neighbor,“ Go, and come back, And tomorrow I will give it to you,” When you have it with you.

We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers and sisters.But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God remain in him?Little children, let’s not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.

for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink;I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’Then they themselves also will answer,‘ Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or as a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’Then He will answer them,‘ Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it for one of the least of these, you did not do it for Me, either.’

Love must be free of hypocrisy. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good.

I am not saying this as a command, but as proving, through the earnestness of others, the sincerity of your love as well.

Now Jesus called His disciples to Him and said,“ I feel compassion for the people, because they have remained with Me now for three days and have nothing to eat; and I do not want to send them away hungry, for they might faint on the way.”

Now when it was evening, the disciples came to Him and said,“ This place is secluded and the hour is already past to eat; send the crowds away, so that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves.”But Jesus said to them,“ They do not need to go; you give them something to eat!”

You have given the weary no water to drink, And you have withheld bread from the hungry.But the earth belongs to the powerful man, And the one who is honorable dwells on it.You have sent widows away empty, And the strength of orphans has been crushed.
