And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be[ ye] warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what[ doth it] profit?

爾中或語之曰、安然而往、願爾溫飽、而不予以身之所需、則何益哉、

而爾曰、安然以往、願爾得溫飽、如不以彼所需賜之、何益之有、

爾中有人謂之曰、安然以往、願爾溫飽、不以其身所需予之、何益之有、

而爾謂之曰：『安心以去、吾信汝必得溫飽；』而不給以切身所需之物、則亦何所裨益。

If one of you says to them,“ Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?

Suppose one of you says to them,“ Go. I hope everything turns out fine for you. Keep warm. Eat well.” And suppose you do nothing about what they really need. Then what good have you done?

and one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?

and you say,“ Good bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”— but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?

and one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it?

and one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?

and one of you says to them,“ Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?

Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do[ it].Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

Hereby perceive we the love[ of God], because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down[ our] lives for the brethren.But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels[ of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did[ it] not to one of the least of these, ye did[ it] not to me.

[ Let] love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

Then Jesus called his disciples[ unto him], and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.

And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.But[ as for] the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
