蓋誡爾毋犯姦淫者、天主也；而誡爾毋殺人者、亦天主也。爾即未犯姦淫、而犯殺人、是亦犯法而已矣。

For he who said,“ You shall not commit adultery,” also said,“ You shall not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.

God said,“ Do not commit adultery.”( Exodus 20:14; Deuteronomy 5:18) He also said,“ Do not commit murder.”( Exodus 20:13; Deuteronomy 5:17) Suppose you don’t commit adultery but do commit murder. Then you have broken the law.

For he who said,“ Do not commit adultery,” also said,“ Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

For the same God who said,“ You must not commit adultery,” also said,“ You must not murder.” So if you murder someone but do not commit adultery, you have still broken the law.

For he who said, Do not commit adultery, also said, Do not murder. So if you do not commit adultery, but you murder, you are a lawbreaker.

爾已聞誡古人之言曰：「毋殺人、殺人者受判。」吾乃語爾、凡忿怒其兄弟者受判；詈兄弟曰「蠢才」者、難免讞院之罰；曰「匪類」者、難免地獄之火。倘爾詣壇前獻禮、而忽憶有負兄弟者、宜姑置禮物於壇前、先與之和、再來獻禮。爾與控爾者尚在途中、速與之睦、恐彼送爾於讞官、讞官發爾於隸、而爾下獄矣。吾實告爾、非分毫悉償、弗克出獄。爾已聞誡曰：「毋犯姦非。」第吾語爾、見婦人而懷邪念、心中已犯姦非矣。

『毋犯奸淫、毋殺人、毋偷盜、毋妄證、毋貪人之所有、』以及其他誡律、一言以蔽之、亦曰愛人如己而已。

曰：『何誡？』曰：『毋殺人、毋姦淫、毋偷盜、毋妄證、

天下之人。誰無罪尤。主若深究。孰能無憂。惟主寬仁。不絕自新。悠悠人世。可不尊親。

誡律云：毋殺人、毋邪淫、毋盜竊、毋妄證、敬事父母、想爾知之。』

夫諸誡爾固識之：毋淫、毋殺、毋竊、毋妄證、毋詐欺、敬爾父母。』
