Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.

I will show you what someone is like who comes to me, hears my words, and acts on them:He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the river crashed against that house and couldn’t shake it, because it was well built.But the one who hears and does not act is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The river crashed against it, and immediately it collapsed. And the destruction of that house was great.”

If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them.

Submit as free people, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but as God’s slaves.

For freedom, Christ set us free. Stand firm, then, and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Speak and act as those who are to be judged by the law of freedom.

I have seen a limit to all perfection, but your command is without limit.How I love your instruction! It is my meditation all day long.Your command makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is always with me.I have more insight than all my teachers because your decrees are my meditation.I understand more than the elders because I obey your precepts.I have kept my feet from every evil path to follow your word.I have not turned from your judgments, for you yourself have instructed me.How sweet your word is to my taste— sweeter than honey in my mouth.I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every false way.Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.

Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him,“ If you continue in my word, you really are my disciples.You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like someone looking at his own face in a mirror.For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of person he was.

Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith. Examine yourselves. Or do you yourselves not recognize that Jesus Christ is in you?— unless you fail the test.

“ As the Father has loved me, I have also loved you. Remain in my love.If you keep my commands you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

But she will be saved through childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with good sense.

For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out,“ Abba, Father!”

Pay close attention to your life and your teaching; persevere in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and your hearers.

The inexperienced one believes anything, but the sensible one watches his steps.

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.

So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and just and good.

Therefore, consider God’s kindness and severity: severity toward those who have fallen but God’s kindness toward you— if you remain in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off.

If you fear the LORD, worship and obey him, and if you don’t rebel against the LORD’s command, then both you and the king who reigns over you will follow the LORD your God.

Happy are those who keep his decrees and seek him with all their heart.They do nothing wrong; they walk in his ways.

The instruction of the LORD is perfect, renewing one’s life; the testimony of the LORD is trustworthy, making the inexperienced wise.The precepts of the LORD are right, making the heart glad; the command of the LORD is radiant, making the eyes light up.The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the LORD are reliable and altogether righteous.They are more desirable than gold— than an abundance of pure gold; and sweeter than honey dripping from a honeycomb.In addition, your servant is warned by them, and in keeping them there is an abundant reward.

This matter arose because some false brothers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus in order to enslave us.

How happy are those who uphold justice, who practice righteousness at all times.

So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.

I pursue the way of your commands, for you broaden my understanding.

Then I heard a voice from heaven saying,“ Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.”“ Yes,” says the Spirit,“ so they will rest from their labors, since their works follow them.”

I will walk freely in an open place because I study your precepts.

Make sure that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness springs up, causing trouble and defiling many.

To this very day, I have had help from God, and I stand and testify to both small and great, saying nothing other than what the prophets and Moses said would take place—
