Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.

我的弟兄们，你们落在百般试炼中，都要以为大喜乐；

我的弟兄们，你们遭受各种试炼时，都要认为是大喜乐，

我的弟兄们，你们遭受各种试炼时，都要认为是大喜乐，

我的弟兄姊妹，当你们遭遇各种磨炼的时候，都要认为是喜乐的事。

我的弟兄们，你们遭遇各种试炼的时候，都要看为喜乐；

我的弟兄们，你们遇到各种试炼的时候，应当看做是极大的喜乐，

兄弟乎、爾遇諸艱難之試、當以為樂、

我兄弟如陷於殷憂多難之中、則當引以為樂。

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

My brothers and sisters, you will face all kinds of trouble. When you do, think of it as pure joy.

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,

Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials,

Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials,

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,

Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations;

Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials,

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

My brothers and sisters, consider it nothing but joy when you fall into all sorts of trials,

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations,

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold— though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.

God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.“ God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.

Each time he said,“ My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man.When that happens, be happy! Yes, leap for joy! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, their ancestors treated the ancient prophets that same way.

For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.

And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.

So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment.

Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The devil will throw some of you into prison to test you. You will suffer for ten days. But if you remain faithful even when facing death, I will give you the crown of life.

The apostles left the high council rejoicing that God had counted them worthy to suffer disgrace for the name of Jesus.

I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for his body, the church.

Instead, be very glad— for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.If you are insulted because you bear the name of Christ, you will be blessed, for the glorious Spirit of God rests upon you.If you suffer, however, it must not be for murder, stealing, making trouble, or prying into other people’s affairs.But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name!

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?( As the Scriptures say,“ For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”)No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail, and when all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew there were better things waiting for you that will last forever.

Some were jeered at, and their backs were cut open with whips. Others were chained in prisons.Some died by stoning, some were sawed in half, and others were killed with the sword. Some went about wearing skins of sheep and goats, destitute and oppressed and mistreated.They were too good for this world, wandering over deserts and mountains, hiding in caves and holes in the ground.

But I will rejoice even if I lose my life, pouring it out like a liquid offering to God, just like your faithful service is an offering to God. And I want all of you to share that joy.
