我兄弟如陷於殷憂多難之中、則當引以為樂。

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,

My brothers and sisters, you will face all kinds of trouble. When you do, think of it as pure joy.

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,

Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations;

Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials,

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

My brothers and sisters, consider it nothing but joy when you fall into all sorts of trials,

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations,

You rejoice in this, even though now for a short time, if necessary, you suffer grief in various trialsso that the proven character of your faith— more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire— may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.Though you have not seen him, you love him; though not seeing him now, you believe in him, and you rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy,

Blessed is the one who endures trials, because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.“ You are blessed when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of me.Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

But he said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and in difficulties, for the sake of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you, insult you, and slander your name as evil because of the Son of Man.“ Rejoice in that day and leap for joy. Take note— your reward is great in heaven, for this is the way their ancestors used to treat the prophets.

For it has been granted to you on Christ’s behalf not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him,

and if children, also heirs— heirs of God and coheirs with Christ— if indeed we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.

then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,

Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. Look, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison to test you, and you will experience affliction for ten days. Be faithful to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Then they went out from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to be treated shamefully on behalf of the Name.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and I am completing in my flesh what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for his body, that is, the church.

Instead, rejoice as you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may also rejoice with great joy when his glory is revealed.If you are ridiculed for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.Let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or a meddler.But if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed but let him glorify God in having that name.

Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?As it is written: Because of you we are being put to death all day long; we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered.No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

For you sympathized with the prisoners and accepted with joy the confiscation of your possessions, because you know that you yourselves have a better and enduring possession.

Others experienced mockings and scourgings, as well as bonds and imprisonment.They were stoned, they were sawed in two, they died by the sword, they wandered about in sheepskins, in goatskins, destitute, afflicted, and mistreated.The world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and on mountains, hiding in caves and holes in the ground.

But even if I am poured out as a drink offering on the sacrificial service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.
