Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

When these desires are allowed to remain, they lead to sin. And when sin is allowed to remain and grow, it leads to death.

Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.

but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for on the day that you eat from it you will certainly die.”

No one sues righteously and no one pleads honestly. They trust in confusion and speak lies; They conceive trouble and give birth to disaster.

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all mankind, because all sinned—for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not counted against anyone when there is no law.Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the violation committed by Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.But the gracious gift is not like the offense. For if by the offense of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many.The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one offense, resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the gracious gift arose from many offenses, resulting in justification.For if by the offense of the one, death reigned through the one, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.So then, as through one offense the result was condemnation to all mankind, so also through one act of righteousness the result was justification of life to all mankind.For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.The Law came in so that the offense would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,so that, as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Woe to those who devise wrongdoing, Who practice evil on their beds! When morning comes, they do it, Because it is in the power of their hands.They covet fields, so they seize them; And houses, so they take them. They exploit a man and his house, A person and his inheritance.Therefore this is what the Lord says:“ Behold, I am planning against this family a catastrophe From which you cannot remove your necks; And you will not walk haughtily, For it will be an evil time.

When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took some of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband with her, and he ate.

Therefore what benefit were you then deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is death.But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property,and kept back some of the proceeds for himself, with his wife’s full knowledge, and bringing a portion of it, he laid it at the apostles’ feet.But Peter said,“ Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the proceeds of the land?

Now he who was betraying Him gave them a sign previously, saying,“ Whomever I kiss, He is the one; arrest Him.”And immediately Judas went up to Jesus and said,“ Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.But Jesus said to him,“ Friend, do what you have come for.” Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and arrested Him.And behold, one of those who were with Jesus reached and drew his sword, and struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his ear.Then Jesus* said to him,“ Put your sword back into its place; for all those who take up the sword will perish by the sword.Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled, which say that it must happen this way?”At that time Jesus said to the crowds,“ Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me as you would against a man inciting a revolt? Every day I used to sit within the temple grounds teaching, and you did not arrest Me.But all this has taken place so that the Scriptures of the prophets will be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left Him and fled.Those who had arrested Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas, the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.But Peter was following Him at a distance, as far as the courtyard of the high priest, and he came inside and sat down with the officers to see the outcome.Now the chief priests and the entire Council kept trying to obtain false testimony against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death.

Then to Adam He said,“ Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying,‘ You shall not eat from it’; Cursed is the ground because of you; With hard labor you shall eat from it All the days of your life.Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; Yet you shall eat the plants of the field;By the sweat of your face You shall eat bread, Until you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return.”

but for Cain and his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his face was gloomy.Then the Lord said to Cain,“ Why are you angry? And why is your face gloomy?If you do well, will your face not be cheerful? And if you do not do well, sin is lurking at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.”Cain talked to his brother Abel; and it happened that when they were in the field Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him.

The wicked will return to Sheol, All the nations who forget God.

Then one of the twelve, named Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests

Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
