Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is fully grown, it gives birth to death.

Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

When these desires are allowed to remain, they lead to sin. And when sin is allowed to remain and grow, it leads to death.

Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.

See, the wicked one is pregnant with evil, conceives trouble, and gives birth to deceit.

They conceive trouble and give birth to evil; their womb prepares deception.

but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die.”

No one makes claims justly; no one pleads honestly. They trust in empty and worthless words; they conceive trouble and give birth to iniquity.

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all men, because all sinned.In fact, sin was in the world before the law, but sin is not charged to a person’s account when there is no law.Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin in the likeness of Adam’s transgression. He is a prototype of the Coming One.But the gift is not like the trespass. For if by the one man’s trespass the many died, how much more have the grace of God and the gift overflowed to the many by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ.And the gift is not like the one man’s sin, because from one sin came the judgment, resulting in condemnation, but from many trespasses came the gift, resulting in justification.Since by the one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive the overflow of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.So then, as through one trespass there is condemnation for everyone, so also through one righteous act there is life-giving justification for everyone.For just as through one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.The law came along to multiply the trespass. But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even moreso that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace will reign through righteousness, resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Woe to those who dream up wickedness and prepare evil plans on their beds! At morning light they accomplish it because the power is in their hands.They covet fields and seize them; they also take houses. They deprive a man of his home, a person of his inheritance.Therefore, the Lord says: I am now planning a disaster against this nation; you cannot free your necks from it. Then you will not walk so proudly because it will be an evil time.

Then the woman saw that the tree was good for food and delightful to look at, and that it was desirable for obtaining wisdom. So she took some of its fruit and ate it; she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

So what fruit was produced then from the things you are now ashamed of? For the end of those things is death.But now, since you have been liberated from sin and have become enslaved to God, you have your fruit, which results in sanctification— and the end is eternal life!For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property.However, he kept back part of the proceeds with his wife’s knowledge, and brought a portion of it and laid it at the apostles’ feet.Then Peter said,“ Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the proceeds from the field?

His betrayer had given them a sign:“ The One I kiss, He’s the One; arrest Him!”So he went right up to Jesus and said,“ Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.“ Friend,” Jesus asked him,“ why have you come?” Then they came up, took hold of Jesus, and arrested Him.At that moment one of those with Jesus reached out his hand and drew his sword. He struck the high priest’s slave and cut off his ear.Then Jesus told him,“ Put your sword back in its place because all who take up a sword will perish by a sword.Or do you think that I cannot call on My Father, and He will provide Me at once with more than 12 legions of angels?How, then, would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?”At that time Jesus said to the crowds,“ Have you come out with swords and clubs, as if I were a criminal, to capture Me? Every day I used to sit, teaching in the temple complex, and you didn’t arrest Me.But all this has happened so that the prophetic Scriptures would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples deserted Him and ran away.Those who had arrested Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had convened.Meanwhile, Peter was following Him at a distance right to the high priest’s courtyard. He went in and was sitting with the temple police to see the outcome.The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false testimony against Jesus so they could put Him to death.

And He said to Adam,“ Because you listened to your wife’s voice and ate from the tree about which I commanded you,‘ Do not eat from it’: The ground is cursed because of you. You will eat from it by means of painful labor all the days of your life.It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field.You will eat bread by the sweat of your brow until you return to the ground, since you were taken from it. For you are dust, and you will return to dust.”

but He did not have regard for Cain and his offering. Cain was furious, and he looked despondent.Then the Lord said to Cain,“ Why are you furious? And why do you look despondent?If you do what is right, won’t you be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.”Cain said to his brother Abel,“ Let’s go out to the field.” And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

The wicked will return to Sheol— all the nations that forget God.

Then one of the Twelve— the man called Judas Iscariot— went to the chief priests

Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.And anyone not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
