Let no one say when he is tempted,“ I am tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.

人見誘、原文作被試下同勿言我為天主所誘、蓋天主不為惡所誘、亦不誘人、

如有人為誘惑所苦、勿曰為天主所誘；夫天主純善、不能被誘於惡、詎能誘人於惡？

When tempted, no one should say,“ God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;

And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say,“ God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.

The one who builds a city by bloodshed is as good as dead– he who starts a town by unjust deeds.Be sure of this! The LORD who commands armies has decreed: The nations’ efforts will go up in smoke; their exhausting work will be for nothing.

The man said,“ The woman whom you gave me, she gave me some fruit from the tree and I ate it.”

Happy is the one who endures testing, because when he has proven to be genuine, he will receive the crown of life that God promised to those who love him.

My brothers and sisters, consider it nothing but joy when you fall into all sorts of trials,

Why, LORD, do you make us stray from your ways, and make our minds stubborn so that we do not obey you? Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes of your inheritance!

You will say to me then,“ Why does he still find fault? For who has ever resisted his will?”But who indeed are you– a mere human being– to talk back to God? Does what is molded say to the molder,“ Why have you made me like this?”
