For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

The sun rises. Its burning heat dries up the plants. Their blossoms fall. Their beauty is destroyed. In the same way, rich people will fade away. They fade away even as they go about their business.

For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.

The hot sun rises and the grass withers; the little flower droops and falls, and its beauty fades away. In the same way, the rich will fade away with all of their achievements.

好得到不朽坏、不玷污、不衰残、为你们存留在天上的基业，

然后他用比喻对他们说：“有一个财主，田地出产丰富。他自己心里想：‘我的出产没有地方储藏，怎么办呢？’就说：‘我要这么办：要把我的仓库拆了，另盖更大的，在那里好储藏我一切的粮食和财物，然后要对我自己说：你这个人哪，你有许多财物积存，可供多年享用，只管安安逸逸吃喝快乐吧！’上帝却对他说：‘无知的人哪！今夜就要你的性命，你所预备的要归谁呢？’凡为自己积财，在上帝面前却不富足的，也是这样。”

我的心如草被踩碎而枯干，甚至我忘记吃饭。

“有一个财主穿着紫色袍和细麻布衣服，天天奢华宴乐。又有一个讨饭的，名叫拉撒路，浑身长疮，被人放在财主门口，想得财主桌子上掉下来的碎食充饥，甚至还有狗来舔他的疮。后来那讨饭的死了，被天使带去放在亚伯拉罕的怀里。财主也死了，并且埋葬了。他在阴间受苦，举目远远地望见亚伯拉罕，又望见拉撒路在他怀里，他就喊着说：‘我祖亚伯拉罕哪，可怜我吧！请打发拉撒路来，用指头尖蘸点水，凉凉我的舌头，因为我在这火焰里，极其痛苦。’亚伯拉罕说：‘孩子啊，你该回想你生前享过福，拉撒路也同样受过苦，如今他在这里得安慰，你却受痛苦。

我见过恶人大有势力，高耸如本地青翠的树木。有人从那里经过，看哪，他已不存在，我寻找他，却寻不着了。

注意！你们这些富足人哪，要为将要临到你们身上的灾难哭泣、号啕。你们的财物腐烂了，你们的衣服被虫子蛀了。你们的金银都生锈了；这锈要证明你们的不是，又要像火一样吞吃你们的肉。你们在这末世只知道积蓄钱财。工人给你们收割庄稼，你们克扣他们的工钱；这工钱在喊冤，而且收割工人的冤声已经进入万军之主的耳朵了。你们在地上享奢华宴乐，把自己养肥了，等候宰杀的日子。你们定了义人的罪，把他杀害，他没有抵抗你们。所以弟兄们，你们要忍耐，直到主来。看哪，农夫等候着地里宝贵的出产，耐心地等到它得了秋霖春雨。

享受这世界的，不像在享受这世界；因为这世界的局面将要过去了。

我的年日如夕阳，我也如草枯干。

次日黎明，上帝却安排一条虫来咬这蓖麻，以致枯干。太阳出来的时候，上帝安排炎热的东风，太阳曝晒约拿的头，使他发昏，他就为自己求死，说：“我死了比活着更好！”

他的肚腹充满奶汁，他的骨髓滋润。有人至死心中痛苦，从未尝过福乐的滋味；他们同样躺卧于尘土，虫子覆盖他们。“看哪，我知道你们的意念，并残害我的计谋。你们说：‘权贵的房屋在哪里？恶人住过的帐棚在哪里？’你们没有询问那些过路的人吗？你们不承认他们的证据吗？就是恶人在患难的日子得存留，在愤怒的日子得逃脱。

你实在把他们安放在滑地，使他们跌倒灭亡；他们转眼之间成了何等荒凉！他们被惊恐灭尽了。人睡醒了，怎样看梦，主啊，你醒了也必照样轻看他们的影像。

他们那些倚靠财货，自夸钱财多的人，没有一个能赎自己的弟兄，能将赎价给上帝，让他长远活着，不见地府；因为赎生命的价值极贵，只可永远罢休。

他怎样从母胎赤身而来，也必照样赤身而去；他所劳碌得来的，手中分毫不能带去。

祸哉！以法莲酒徒高傲的冠冕，其荣美竟如花凋残；他们在肥沃的山谷顶上，被酒击败。

他们不饥不渴，炎热和烈日必不伤害他们；因为怜悯他们的必引导他们，领他们到水泉旁边。

那如凋残之花的荣美，在肥沃的山谷顶上，必如夏令前初熟的无花果，让看见的人注意，摘到手里，随即吞吃。

到了大牧人显现的时候，你们必得到那永不衰残、荣耀的冠冕。
