By the wrath of the Lord Almighty the land will be scorched and the people will be fuel for the fire; they will not spare one another.

The Lord rules over all. When he gets angry, he will burn up the land. The people will burn in the fire. They will not spare one another.

Through the wrath of the Lord of hosts the land is scorched, and the people are like fuel for the fire; no one spares another.

The land will be blackened by the fury of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. The people will be fuel for the fire, and no one will spare even his own brother.

The land is scorched by the wrath of the LORD of Armies, and the people are like fuel for the fire. No one has compassion on his brother.

地上的虔誠人滅盡了，人世間已無正直的人；他們都埋伏，為要流人的血，用羅網獵取自己的弟兄。

因為兒子藐視父親，女兒抵擋母親，媳婦抗拒婆婆，人的仇敵就是自己家裏的人。

從正午到下午三點鐘，遍地都黑暗了。

太陽要變為黑暗，月亮要變為血，這都在主大而光榮的日子未到以前。

當耶和華－你們的神尚未使黑暗來臨，在昏暗的山上你們的腳未絆跌以前，要將榮耀歸給他。你們盼望光明，他卻使光明變為死蔭，成為幽暗。

看哪，黑暗籠罩大地，幽暗遮蓋萬民，耶和華卻要升起照耀你，他的榮光要顯在你身上。

有權勢的必如麻線，他的作為好像火花，都要一同焚燒，無人撲滅。

那日，他們要向以色列人咆哮，像海浪澎湃；人若望地，看哪，只有黑暗與禍患，光明因密雲而變黑暗。

那是黑暗、陰森的日子，是密雲、烏黑的日子，如同黎明籠罩山嶺。有一隊蝗蟲，又大又強，自古以來沒有像這樣的，以後直到萬代也必沒有。

看哪！耶和華的日子臨到，必有殘忍、憤恨、烈怒，使這地荒蕪，除滅其中的罪人。

我，萬軍之耶和華狂怒，就是發烈怒的日子，要令天震動，地必搖撼，離其本位。

我耳中聽見耶和華對其餘的人說：「要跟隨他走遍全城去擊殺。你們的眼不要顧惜，也不要可憐他們。

他們必用弓擊潰青年，不憐憫婦人所生的；眼也不顧惜孩子。

俯察下地，看哪，盡是艱難、黑暗和駭人的昏暗。他必被趕入幽暗中去。

想望耶和華日子的人有禍了！為甚麼你們要耶和華的日子呢？那是黑暗沒有光明的日子，

有人在街上嚷着要酒喝，一切的喜樂變為昏暗，地上的歡樂全都消失。城裏盡是荒涼，城門全都摧毀。

所以，詛咒吞滅大地，住在其上的都有罪；地上的居民被火焚燒，剩下的人稀少。

既然神沒有寬容犯了罪的天使，反而把他們丟在地獄裏，囚禁在幽暗中等候審判；
