Surely wickedness burns like a fire; it consumes briers and thorns, it sets the forest thickets ablaze, so that it rolls upward in a column of smoke.

What is evil burns like a fire. It burns up bushes and thorns. It sets the forest on fire. It sends up a huge column of smoke.

This wickedness is like a brushfire. It burns not only briers and thorns but also sets the forests ablaze. Its burning sends up clouds of smoke.

万军之耶和华说：“看哪，那日临近，势如烧着的火炉，凡狂傲的和行恶的都如碎秸，在那日被烧尽，根与枝条无一存留。

火怎样焚烧树林，火焰怎样烧着山岭，

火苗怎样吞灭碎秸，干草怎样落在火焰之中，照样，他们的根必然腐朽，他们的花像灰尘扬起；因为他们厌弃万军之耶和华的教诲，藐视以色列圣者的言语。

你们像杂乱的荆棘，像喝醉了的人，又如枯干的碎秸，全然烧灭。

世代的终结也要这样：天使要出来，把恶人从义人中分别出来，丢在火炉里，在那里要哀哭切齿了。”

百姓发怨言，恶言传达到耶和华的耳中。耶和华听见了就怒气发作，耶和华的火在他们中间焚烧，烧毁营的外围。百姓向摩西哀求，摩西祈求耶和华，火就熄了。那地方就叫做他备拉，因为耶和华的火曾在他们中间焚烧。

这是耶和华报仇之日，为锡安伸冤的报应之年。它的河水要变为柏油，尘埃变为硫磺，大地成为燃烧的柏油，昼夜总不熄灭，它的烟永远上腾，必世世代代成为荒废，永永远远无人经过。

耶和华必使人听见他威严的声音，又以极大的愤怒、吞灭的火焰、雷雨、暴风和像石块的冰雹，使人看见他降罚的膀臂。

因为这是邪恶的事，审判官裁定的罪孽。这是一场火，直烧到毁灭，必拔除我一切的家产。

万民必像烧着的石灰，又如斩断的荆棘，在火里燃烧。”

原来陀斐特早已预备好了，是为君王预备的；又深又宽，堆满了火和木柴；耶和华的气息犹如一股硫磺使它燃起。

主耶和华又指示我一件事，看哪，主耶和华命火施行审判，火就吞灭深渊，烧尽产业。

恶人却要灭亡。耶和华的仇敌要像草地的华美；他们要毁灭，在烟中消失。

耶和华必以火与刀审判凡有血肉之躯的，被耶和华所杀的很多。“那些洁净自己献给偶像，进入园内，跟随在其中一个人去吃猪肉和鼠肉，并可憎之物的，他们必一同灭绝。这是耶和华说的。

你要对尼革夫的树林说，要听耶和华的话。主耶和华如此说：看哪，我要在你那里点火，烧灭你们中间所有的绿树和枯树，猛烈的火焰必不熄灭；从南到北，人的脸都被烧焦。凡血肉之躯都知道是我—耶和华点了火，这火必不熄灭。”

因为我的怒火焚烧，直烧到极深的阴间，吞噬地和地的出产，连山的根基也烧着了。

我要使北方来的队伍远离你们，将他们赶到干旱荒芜之地：前队赶入东海，后队赶入西海；臭气上升，恶臭腾空。耶和华果然行了大事！

他发愤恨，谁能立得住呢？他发烈怒，谁能当得起呢？他的愤怒如火倾泄而出，磐石因他崩裂。

有权势的必如麻线，他的作为好像火花，都要一同焚烧，无人扑灭。

如果你一只手使你跌倒，就把它砍下来；你缺一只手进入永生，比有两只手落到地狱，入那不灭的火里去还好。

我心中不存愤怒。惟愿在战争中我有荆棘和蒺藜，我就起步攻击他，把他一同焚烧；

这块田地若长荆棘和蒺藜，必被废弃，近于诅咒，结局就是焚烧。

“王又要向那左边的说：‘你们这被诅咒的人，离开我！进入那为魔鬼和他的使者所预备的永火里去！

因此，主—万军之耶和华必使亚述王的壮士变为瘦弱，在他的荣华之下必有火点燃，如同火在燃烧一般。以色列的光必变成火，它的圣者必成为火焰；一日之间，将亚述王的荆棘和蒺藜焚烧净尽，又毁灭树林和田园的荣华，连魂带体，好像病重的人消逝一样。

使他们受痛苦的烟往上冒，直到永永远远。那些拜兽和兽像，受了它名字的印记的人，昼夜不得安宁。”

因此，他们必如早晨的云雾，又如速散的露水，如被狂风吹离禾场的糠秕，又如烟囱冒出的烟。
