Surely wickedness burns like a fire; it consumes briers and thorns, it sets the forest thickets ablaze, so that it rolls upward in a column of smoke.

What is evil burns like a fire. It burns up bushes and thorns. It sets the forest on fire. It sends up a huge column of smoke.

This wickedness is like a brushfire. It burns not only briers and thorns but also sets the forests ablaze. Its burning sends up clouds of smoke.

“万军之耶和华说，‘那日要来临了，就像烧红的火炉，所有狂妄自大、作恶多端的人都要像碎秸一样被火烧尽，连根带枝，荡然无存。

烈火怎样烧毁森林，火焰怎样吞没山岭，

他们的根必朽烂，花朵如飞尘飘落，就像火焰吞灭禾秸，烧尽干草，因为他们厌弃以色列之圣者的训诲，藐视万军之耶和华的言语。

你们像纠结的荆棘，又像酩酊大醉的人，要如干秸被火烧尽。

世界末日的时候也是这样。天使必把恶人从义人中拣出来，丢在火炉里，让恶人在那里哀哭切齿。

民众因为困难而发怨言，传到耶和华耳中。耶和华听见后便向他们发怒，使火在他们中间燃烧，烧毁了营地的边缘部分。民众呼求摩西，摩西便向耶和华祷告，火就熄了。那地方叫他备拉，因为耶和华的火曾在他们中间燃烧。

因为这是耶和华报应的日子，是祂为锡安报仇之年。以东的河流要变为沥青，土壤要变成硫磺，大地要成为燃烧的沥青，昼夜燃烧，浓烟滚滚，永不止息。以东必世世代代荒废，人踪绝迹。

耶和华必使人听见祂威严的声音，在愤怒、烈焰、暴雨、雷轰和冰雹中让人看见祂降罚的臂膀。

因为这是大恶，是当受审判的罪，是烧向灭亡的火焰，会吞噬我所有家业。

列邦必被烧成灰烬，好像割下的荆棘被火焚烧。”

焚烧之地——陀斐特早已为亚述王预备好了，那里又宽又深，堆着许多木柴，耶和华的气必如同一股硫磺火点燃那些木柴。

以下是主耶和华让我看见的异象：看啊，主耶和华降下审判的大火。大火烧干了深海，正在吞噬土地。

但恶人必灭亡，上帝的仇敌必像野地枯萎的花草，消逝如烟。

因为耶和华要用火和剑审判世人，杀死许多人。耶和华说：“那些奉献自己、洁净自己的人一个接一个进园中祭拜假神，又吃猪肉、老鼠及其他可憎之物，他们必一同灭亡。

你要对南地的树林说，‘你要听耶和华的话。主耶和华说，我要在你那里燃起火来，烧毁你所有的青树和枯树。这不熄的烈火要从南到北烧焦一切。这样，世人便知道这烈火是我耶和华点燃的，它绝不会熄灭。’”

我的怒火已经点燃，要烧到阴间的尽头，吞灭大地及其出产，甚至烧毁山的根基。

我要赶出从北方来的军队，把他们驱逐到一个干旱荒芜的地方，把他们的领头部队赶进死海，再把他们的殿后部队赶进地中海，那时他们必臭气冲天、腥味腾空，因为耶和华为你们行了大事。”

祂发怒，谁能站立？祂发烈怒，谁能承受？祂的愤怒如火焰喷涌而出，磐石在祂面前崩裂。

你们中间有权势的人必因他们的恶行而遭毁灭，好像火花点燃枯木，无人能救。

如果你一只手使你犯罪，就砍掉它！

我不再向它发怒。若是发现荆棘和蒺藜，我就对付它们，把它们烧光。

若长出来的尽是荆棘和蒺藜，就毫无价值，它会面临被咒诅的危险，最后必遭焚烧。

“王又对左边的人说，‘你们这些被咒诅的人，走开！到专为魔鬼及其使者预备的永远不灭的火里去吧！

因此，主——万军之耶和华必使亚述王强健的士兵疾病缠身，使火焰吞噬他的荣耀。以色列的光必成为火焰，他们的圣者必成为烈火，一日之间烧光亚述王的荆棘和蒺藜。他茂盛的树林和肥美的田园必被彻底摧毁，犹如病人渐渐消亡。

他们受煎熬所发出的烟不断上升，永无休止。那些拜兽、兽像和接受了兽名印记的人昼夜不得安宁。”

他们像晨雾，如转瞬即逝的朝露，像麦场上飞旋而去的糠秕，又像窗口冒出的轻烟。
