耶和華為萬有之主、屢擊斯民、尚不知悛改、以求施恩、

斯民仍不歸向懲之者、不尋求萬有之主、

But the people have not returned to him who struck them, nor have they sought the Lord Almighty.

But his people have not returned to the God who struck them down. They haven’t turned for help to the Lord who rules over all.

The people did not turn to him who struck them, nor inquire of the Lord of hosts.

For after all this punishment, the people will still not repent. They will not seek the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Yet the people have not turned unto him that smote them, neither have they sought Jehovah of hosts.

The people did not return to the one who struck them, they did not seek reconciliation with the LORD who commands armies.

Yet the people have not turned to him who struck them, neither have they sought Yahweh of Armies.

Though the pride of Israel testifies against him, Yet they have not returned to the Lord their God, Nor have they sought Him, despite all this.

Lord, do Your eyes not look for honesty? You have struck them, But they did not weaken; You have consumed them, But they refused to accept discipline. They have made their faces harder than rock; They have refused to repent.

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help And rely on horses, And trust in chariots because they are many And in horsemen because they are very strong, But they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the Lord!

Where will you be stricken again, As you continue in your rebellion? The entire head is sick And the entire heart is faint.

“ In those days and at that time,” declares the Lord,“ the sons of Israel will come, they and the sons of Judah as well; they will go along weeping as they go, and it will be the Lord their God whom they will seek.They will ask for the way to Zion, turning their faces in its direction; they will come so that they may join themselves to the Lord in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.

Because of the wrongful act of his unjust gain I was angry and struck him; I hid My face and was angry, And he went on turning away, in the way of his heart.

For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord,‘ plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

I have certainly heard Ephraim grieving,‘ You have disciplined me, and I was corrected, Like an untrained calf; Bring me back that I may be restored, For You are the Lord my God.For after I turned back, I repented; And after I was instructed, I slapped my thigh; I was ashamed and also humiliated Because I bore the shame of my youth.’Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a delightful child? Indeed, as often as I have spoken against him, I certainly still remember him; Therefore My heart yearns for him; I will certainly have mercy on him,” declares the Lord.

Lord, Your hand is lifted up, yet they do not see it. They see Your zeal for the people and are put to shame; Indeed, fire will devour Your enemies.

I will go away and return to My place Until they acknowledge their guilt and seek My face; In their distress they will search for Me.

Now during the time of his distress, this same King Ahaz became even more unfaithful to the Lord.

But the godless in heart nurture anger; They do not call for help when He binds them.

In your filthiness is outrageous sin. Because I would have cleansed you, Yet you are not clean, You will not be cleansed from your filthiness again Until I have expended My wrath on you.

But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.

They turn, but not upward, They are like a loose bow; Their officials will fall by the sword Because of the insolence of their tongue. This will be their derision in the land of Egypt.

For the sons of Israel will live for many days without a king or leader, without sacrifice or memorial stone, and without ephod or household idols.Afterward the sons of Israel will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king; and they will come trembling to the Lord and to His goodness in the last days.
