然而，那曾經在痛苦之中的，必不再幽暗。先前神使西布倫地和拿弗他利地被藐視，日後卻要使沿海的路、約旦河的對岸、外邦人的加利利得著榮耀——

昔受痛苦者、將免幽暗、上帝昔使西布倫與拿弗他利地受辱、後將使沿海之路、約但河外、列邦之境得榮、

越在疇昔、西布倫、納大利、沿海之地、約但河上、異邦之加利利、此數邑者、屢被凌辱、迄於後日、不遘艱難、必得榮顯、

今國雖受苦、必不永居幽暗、昔時主使西布倫拿弗他利受凌辱、其後主又使沿海之地、約但河濱、異族之迦利利、復得尊榮、

Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee of the nations, by the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan—

But there won’t be any more sadness for those who were suffering. In the past the Lord brought shame on the land of Zebulun. He also brought shame on the land of Naphtali. But in days to come he will honor Galilee, where people from other nations live. He will honor the land along the Mediterranean Sea. And he will honor the territory east of the Jordan River.

But there will be no gloom for her who was in anguish. In the former time he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the latter time he has made glorious the way of the sea, the land beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

Nevertheless, that time of darkness and despair will not go on forever. The land of Zebulun and Naphtali will be humbled, but there will be a time in the future when Galilee of the Gentiles, which lies along the road that runs between the Jordan and the sea, will be filled with glory.

Nevertheless, the gloom of the distressed land will not be like that of the former times when he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali. But in the future he will bring honor to the way of the sea, to the land east of the Jordan, and to Galilee of the nations.

But there will be no more gloom for her who was in anguish. In earlier times He treated the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali with contempt, but later on He will make it glorious, by the way of the sea, on the other side of the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles.

Nevertheless the gloom will not be upon her who is distressed, As when at first He lightly esteemed The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, And afterward more heavily oppressed her, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, In Galilee of the Gentiles.

But there shall be no gloom to her that was in anguish. In the former time he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali; but in the latter time hath he made it glorious, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

Nevertheless, the gloom of the distressed land will not be like that of the former times when He humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali. But in the future He will bring honor to the Way of the Sea, to the land east of the Jordan, and to Galilee of the nations.

Nevertheless the dimness[ shall] not[ be] such as[ was] in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict[ her by] the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.

( 8: 23) The gloom will be dispelled for those who were anxious. In earlier times he humiliated the land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali; but now he brings honor to the way of the sea, the region beyond the Jordan, and Galilee of the nations.

But there shall be no more gloom for her who was in anguish. In the former time, he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali; but in the latter time he has made it glorious, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

“西布倫地、拿弗他利地，沿海之路，約旦河外，外族人的加利利啊！住在黑暗中的人民，看見了大光；死亡幽暗之地的居民，有光照亮他們。”

以色列王比加在位的日子，亞述王提革拉．毗列色前來，攻取了以雲、亞伯．伯．瑪迦、亞挪、基低斯、夏瑣、基列、加利利和拿弗他利全地，把居民擄到亞述去。

他們仰臉向天觀望，又俯視大地，只見困苦、黑暗、可怕的幽暗；他們必被趕入幽黑的黑暗中。

便．哈達聽從了亞撒王的話，就派遣他屬下的眾軍長去攻擊以色列的城市，他們攻陷了以雲、但、亞伯．瑪音和拿弗他利一切貯藏貨物的城市。

我也要與你們作對，按著你們的罪，再加重七倍擊打你們；

“你父與我父之間曾經立過約，我也要與你立約。現在我把金銀送給你作禮物，請你去廢除與以色列王巴沙所立的約，好使他離開我。”便．哈達聽從亞撒王的話，派遣他的眾軍長去攻擊以色列的各城。他們攻破了以雲、但、亞伯．伯．瑪迦、基尼烈全境和拿弗他利全地。

因此，以色列的神激動了亞述王普勒的心，就是亞述王提革拉．毘尼色的心，他就把流本支派、迦得支派和瑪拿西半個支派的人擄到哈臘、哈博和哈拉，以及歌散河邊，他們的後裔直到今日還在那裡。

亞述王上來攻擊以色列全國各地，並且到撒瑪利亞來，圍城三年。何細亞在位第九年，亞述王佔領了撒瑪利亞，把以色列人擄到亞述去，安置他們在哈臘，在哈博河和歌散河一帶，以及在瑪代人的各城。

我就必發烈怒，與你們作對；我要按著你們的罪，再加重七倍管教你們。
