now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the River, strong and many, even the king of Assyria and all his glory: and it shall come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks;

我要差来亚述王的军队，使他们像幼发拉底河的洪流一样汹涌而来，淹没一切水道，漫过河岸，

因此，主必使大河又强又大的水临到他们，就是亚述王和他一切威荣，水必涨起来，高过所有的水道；水要泛滥，漫过所有的河岸；

因此，看哪，主必使幼发拉底河强盛的大水，就是亚述王和他所有的威势，上涨淹没他们，又上涨淹没一切水道，漫过所有的河岸；

因此，主必使大河翻騰的水猛然沖來，就是亞述王和他所有的威勢，必漫過一切的水道，漲過兩岸；

因此，看哪，主必使亞述王和他的威勢如大河翻騰洶湧的水上漲，蓋過他們，必上漲超過一切水道，漲過兩岸，

因此，看哪，主必使亞述王和他的威勢如大河翻騰洶湧的水上漲，蓋過他們，必上漲超過一切水道，漲過兩岸，

我要差來亞述王的軍隊，使他們像幼發拉底河的洪流一樣洶湧而來，淹沒一切水道，漫過河岸，

因此，主必使大河又強又大的水臨到他們，就是亞述王和他一切威榮，水必漲起來，高過所有的水道；水要氾濫，漫過所有的河岸；

因此、你看吧，主必使大河的水，又強又大的水，就是亞述王和他所有的威榮，起來淹沒他們；大水必漲起、高過一切水溝，它必橫流，漫過所有的河岸；

因此，看哪，主必使幼發拉底河強盛的大水，就是亞述王和他所有的威勢，上漲淹沒他們，又上漲淹沒一切水道，漫過所有的河岸；

故主必使亞述王、及其威勢、如大河之水、洶湧漲溢、出川踰岸、

故我必使亞述王、率師襲之、若大河狂流、勢洶湧而逾岸、

故主必使亞述王率軍旅來攻之、勢如大河之水、狂流洶湧、漲溢出川、氾濫逾岸、

therefore the Lord is about to bring against them the mighty floodwaters of the Euphrates— the king of Assyria with all his pomp. It will overflow all its channels, run over all its banks

So I am about to bring against these people the king of Assyria and his whole army. The Assyrians will be like the mighty Euphrates River when it is flooding. They will run over everything in their path.

therefore, behold, the Lord is bringing up against them the waters of the River, mighty and many, the king of Assyria and all his glory. And it will rise over all its channels and go over all its banks,

Therefore, the Lord will overwhelm them with a mighty flood from the Euphrates River— the king of Assyria and all his glory. This flood will overflow all its channels

the Lord will certainly bring against them the mighty rushing water of the Euphrates River— the king of Assyria and all his glory. It will overflow its channels and spill over all its banks.

Now therefore, behold, the Lord is about to bring on them the strong and abundant waters of the Euphrates River, That is, the king of Assyria and all his glory; And it will rise over all its channels and go over all its banks.

Now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up over them The waters of the River, strong and mighty— The king of Assyria and all his glory; He will go up over all his channels And go over all his banks.

the Lord will certainly bring against them the mighty rushing waters of the Euphrates River— the king of Assyria and all his glory. It will overflow its channels and spill over all its banks.

Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many,[ even] the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:

So look, the sovereign master is bringing up against them the turbulent and mighty waters of the Euphrates River– the king of Assyria and all his majestic power. It will reach flood stage and overflow its banks.

now therefore, behold, the Lord brings upon them the mighty flood waters of the River: the king of Assyria and all his glory. It will come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks.

Ah, the uproar of many peoples, that roar like the roaring of the seas; and the rushing of nations, that rush like the rushing of mighty waters!The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but he shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like the whirling dust before the storm.

Jehovah will bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father’s house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah- even the king of Assyria.

In that day will the Lord shave with a razor that is hired in the parts beyond the River, even with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet; and it shall also consume the beard.

For the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, is he that toucheth the land and it melteth, and all that dwell therein shall mourn; and it shall rise up wholly like the River, and shall sink again, like the River of Egypt;

And I, behold, I do bring the flood of waters upon this earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is in the earth shall die.

Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? yea, it shall rise up wholly like the River; and it shall be troubled and sink again, like the River of Egypt.

Jehovah will bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;a nation of fierce countenance, that shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young,and shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy ground, until thou be destroyed; that also shall not leave thee grain, new wine, or oil, the increase of thy cattle, or the young of thy flock, until they have caused thee to perish.And they shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fortified walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land; and they shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which Jehovah thy God hath given thee.

So shall they fear the name of Jehovah from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come as a rushing stream, which the breath of Jehovah driveth.

And the serpent cast out of his mouth after the woman water as a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream.And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

But with an over- running flood he will make a full end of her place, and will pursue his enemies into darkness.

And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart trembled, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest tremble with the wind.Then said Jehovah unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shear- jashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, in the highway of the fuller’s field;and say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither let thy heart be faint, because of these two tails of smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have purposed evil against thee, saying,Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set up a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeel;

And his sons shall war, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces, which shall come on, and overflow, and pass through; and they shall return and war, even to his fortress.

And the overwhelming forces shall be overwhelmed from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.

And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, And from the River unto the ends of the earth.

and the rest of the nations whom the great and noble Osnappar brought over, and set in the city of Samaria, and in the rest of the country beyond the River, and so forth.

And I will make justice the line, and righteousness the plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding- place.

And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and besieged it.And at the end of three years they took it: in the sixth year of Hezekiah, which was the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, Samaria was taken.And the king of Assyria carried Israel away unto Assyria, and put them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes,because they obeyed not the voice of Jehovah their God, but transgressed his covenant, even all that Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded, and would not hear it, nor do it.

And after the threescore and two weeks shall the anointed one be cut off, and shall have nothing: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and even unto the end shall be war; desolations are determined.

Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and brought him tribute.And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea; for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and offered no tribute to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away unto Assyria, and placed them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a forest- like shade, and of high stature; and its top was among the thick boughs.The waters nourished it, the deep made it to grow: the rivers thereof ran round about its plantation; and it sent out its channels unto all the trees of the field.Therefore its stature was exalted above all the trees of the field; and its boughs were multiplied, and its branches became long by reason of many waters, when it shot them forth.All the birds of the heavens made their nests in its boughs; and under its branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young; and under its shadow dwelt all great nations.Thus was it fair in its greatness, in the length of its branches; for its root was by many waters.The cedars in the garden of God could not hide it; the fir- trees were not like its boughs, and the plane- trees were not as its branches; nor was any tree in the garden of God like unto it in its beauty.I made it fair by the multitude of its branches, so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied it.Therefore thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because thou art exalted in stature, and he hath set his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;I will even deliver him into the hand of the mighty one of the nations; he shall surely deal with him; I have driven him out for his wickedness.And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the watercourses of the land; and all the peoples of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.Upon his ruin all the birds of the heavens shall dwell, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches;to the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves in their stature, neither set their top among the thick boughs, nor that their mighty ones stand up in their height, even all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day when he went down to Sheol I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the rivers thereof; and the great waters were stayed; and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to Sheol with them that descend into the pit; and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, were comforted in the nether parts of the earth.They also went down into Sheol with him unto them that are slain by the sword; yea, they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the nations.To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with them that are slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord Jehovah.

he is like a man building a house, who digged and went deep, and laid a foundation upon the rock: and when a flood arose, the stream brake against that house, and could not shake it: because it had been well builded.

Who is this that riseth up like the Nile, whose waters toss themselves like the rivers?Egypt riseth up like the Nile, and his waters toss themselves like the rivers: and he saith, I will rise up, I will cover the earth; I will destroy cities and the inhabitants thereof.

For he saith, Are not my princes all of them kings?Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?Wherefore it shall come to pass, that, when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.For he hath said, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I have understanding: and I have removed the bounds of the peoples, and have robbed their treasures, and like a valiant man I have brought down them that sit on thrones:and my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the peoples; and as one gathereth eggs that are forsaken, have I gathered all the earth: and there was none that moved the wing, or that opened the mouth, or chirped.
