我若出到田间，看哪，有被刀杀的；我若进入城内，看哪，有因饥荒患病的；先知和祭司也在各地往来经商，不知如何是好。

“不可毁谤神；也不可诅咒你百姓的领袖。

因此，看哪，主必使亚述王和他的威势如大河翻腾汹涌的水上涨，盖过他们，必上涨超过一切水道，涨过两岸，必冲入犹大，涨溢泛滥，直到颈项。他展开翅膀，遮蔽你的全地。以马内利啊！”

四月初九，城里的饥荒非常严重，当地的百姓都没有粮食。

你在仇敌围困的窘迫中，必吃你本身所生的，就是耶和华—你神所赐给你的儿女之肉。你中间，连那温和文雅的人都必冷眼恶待自己的兄弟和怀中的妻子，以及他所剩下其余的儿女，不把所吃儿女的肉分一点给他们任何一个人，因为在被仇敌围困、陷入窘迫的各城中，他已经一无所剩了。你中间柔顺娇嫩的妇人，甚至因柔顺娇嫩脚不肯踏地的妇人，也必冷眼恶待她怀中的丈夫和自己的儿女。在被仇敌围困、陷入窘迫的城镇中，她因缺乏一切，就要暗中把从她两腿中间出来的胞衣和所生下的儿女吃了。

正与他们说话的时候，看哪，使者下到他那里，说：“看哪，这灾祸是从耶和华来的，我何必再仰望耶和华呢？”

你地所产的和你劳力所得的，必被你所不认识的百姓吃尽。你天天只被欺负，受压制，甚至你因眼中所见的景象而疯狂。

人被炎热所烤，就亵渎那有权掌管这些灾难的神的名，他们没有悔改，也没有把荣耀归给神。第五位天使把碗倾倒在兽的座位上，兽的国就变成黑暗。人因疼痛而咬自己的舌头；又因所受的疼痛和生的疮，就亵渎天上的神，也没有为他们的行为悔改。

他的妻子对他说：“你仍然持守你的纯正吗？你背弃神，死了吧！”

但你若伸手毁他一切所有的，他必当面背弃你。”

四月初九，城里的饥荒非常严重，当地的百姓都没有粮食。

但你若伸手伤他的骨头和他的肉，他必当面背弃你。”

吃奶孩子的舌头因干渴贴住上膛，孩童求饼，却无人擘给他们。素来吃美好食物的，如今遭遗弃在街上；素来穿着朱红衣裳长大的，如今却拥抱粪堆。

被刀剑刺杀的胜过因饥饿而死的；饥饿者由于缺乏田里的出产就消瘦而亡。当我百姓遭毁灭的时候，慈心的妇人亲手烹煮自己的儿女为食物。

其余未曾被这些灾难所杀的人仍旧不为自己手所做的悔改，还是去拜鬼魔和那些不能看、不能听、不能走，用金、银、铜、木、石所造的偶像。他们也不为自己所犯的那些凶杀、邪术、淫乱、偷窃的事悔改。
