不可褻瀆上帝，也不可咒詛百姓的官長。

我要差來亞述王的軍隊，使他們像幼發拉底河的洪流一樣洶湧而來，淹沒一切水道，漫過河岸，席捲猶大，使整個猶大幾遭滅頂之災。他必展開雙翼橫掃你的土地。」願上帝與我們同在！

那年四月九日，城裡饑荒非常嚴重，百姓無糧可吃。

「當你們被敵人圍困、陷入絕境時，你們必吃自己的親生骨肉——你們的上帝耶和華賜給你們的兒女。因為被敵人困在城中，饑餓難熬，連你們中間最溫柔體貼的男人也要獨自吞吃子女的肉，不肯分給自己的兄弟、愛妻和剩下的兒女。

話音未落，使者已經到了，說：「既然這禍是從耶和華來的，我何必再仰望祂呢？」

「與你們素不相識的民族必吃光你們土地的出產和勞碌所得，你們必常受欺壓，以致眼前的一切令你們發瘋。

人們被炙熱灼傷，就褻瀆掌管這些災禍的上帝的名，他們毫無悔意，不肯歸榮耀給上帝。第五位天使將碗倒在那海中怪獸的座位上，牠的國便被黑暗籠罩，牠的國民痛苦難當，咬自己的舌頭。他們因為痛苦和毒瘡就褻瀆天上的上帝，不肯為自己的所作所為悔改。

他的妻子對他說：「你還要持守自己的純正嗎？不如褻瀆上帝，死掉算了！」

倘若你伸手毀壞他擁有的一切，他必當面褻瀆你。」

那年四月九日，城裡饑荒非常嚴重，百姓無糧可吃。

倘若你伸手傷害他的骨和肉，他必當面褻瀆你。」

嬰兒乾渴難忍，舌頭緊貼上膛；孩童乞求食物，卻無人給予。昔日錦衣玉食、生活奢侈的，如今卻流落街頭，躺臥在糞堆中。

死於刀下的勝過死於饑餓的，後者因田間缺糧而活活餓死。我的百姓遭毀滅時，慈母親手煮自己的兒女充饑。

其餘沒有被這些災害所殺的人仍不肯悔改、停止手中的惡行，還是去拜魔鬼和那些用金、銀、銅、石、木所造，不能看、不能聽、不能行走的偶像。他們不肯爲自己所犯的兇殺、邪術、淫亂和偷盜悔改。
