Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.

Follow what the Lord taught you and said to you through me. People who don’t speak in keeping with these words will have no hope in the morning.

To the teaching and to the testimony! If they will not speak according to this word, it is because they have no dawn.

Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.

Go to God’s instruction and testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, there will be no dawn for them.

To the Law and to the testimony! If they do not speak in accordance with this word, it is because they have no dawn.

Then you must recall the LORD’s instructions and the prophetic testimony of what would happen. Certainly they say such things because their minds are spiritually darkened.

Turn to the law and to the covenant! If they don’t speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.

And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;

Now go, write it before them on a tablet, And note it on a scroll, That it may be for time to come, Forever and ever:That this is a rebellious people, Lying children, Children who will not hear the law of the Lord;Who say to the seers,“ Do not see,” And to the prophets,“ Do not prophesy to us right things; Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.Get out of the way, Turn aside from the path, Cause the Holy One of Israel To cease from before us.”

Bind up the testimony, Seal the law among my disciples.

The wise men are ashamed, They are dismayed and taken. Behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord; So what wisdom do they have?

But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves.

“ Therefore you shall have night without vision, And you shall have darkness without divination; The sun shall go down on the prophets, And the day shall be dark for them.

For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.

and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth.

The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;

And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying,“ In you all the nations shall be blessed.”So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written,“ Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for“ the just shall live by faith.”Yet the law is not of faith, but“ the man who does them shall live by them.”Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us( for it is written,“ Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man’s covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it.Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say,“ And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one,“ And to your Seed,” who is Christ.And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect.For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise.What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator.Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one.Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed.Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.

And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men— the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.”He said to them,“ All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

Jesus answered and said to them,“ You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.

Professing to be wise, they became fools,

These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

Hear the word of the Lord, You rulers of Sodom; Give ear to the law of our God, You people of Gomorrah:

Abraham said to him,‘ They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’And he said,‘ No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’But he said to him,‘ If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’”

Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law?For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman.

For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

He said to him,“ What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?”
