He will be a holy place; for both Israel and Judah he will be a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.

Then the Lord will be a holy place of safety for you. But that’s not true for many people in Israel and Judah. He will be a stone that causes them to trip. He will be a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.

And he will become a sanctuary and a stone of offense and a rock of stumbling to both houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

He will keep you safe. But to Israel and Judah he will be a stone that makes people stumble, a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.

He will be a sanctuary; but for the two houses of Israel, he will be a stone to stumble over and a rock to trip over, and a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

又說：「作了絆腳的石頭，使人跌倒的磐石。」他們絆跌，因為不順從這道，這也是預定的。

這是甚麼緣故呢？是因為他們不憑着信心，而是憑着行為，他們正跌在那絆腳石上。就如經上所記：「我在錫安放一塊絆腳的石頭，使人跌倒的磐石；信靠他的人必不蒙羞。」

西面給他們祝福，又對孩子的母親馬利亞說：「這孩子被立，是要叫以色列中許多人跌倒，許多人興起；又要成為毀謗的對象，

所以，主耶和華如此說：「看哪，我在錫安放一塊石頭作為根基，是衡量的石頭，是寶貴的房角石，穩固的根基；信靠他的人必不致驚恐。

所以你當說：『主耶和華如此說：我雖將以色列全家遠遠流放到列國，使他們分散在列邦，我卻要在他們所到的列邦，暫時作他們的聖所。』

上帝是我們的避難所，是我們的力量，是我們在患難中隨時的幫助。所以，地雖改變，山雖搖動到海心，

他要向惡人密佈羅網，烈火、硫磺、熱風作他們杯中的份。

耶和華的名是堅固臺，義人奔入就得安穩。

他們就厭棄他。耶穌對他們說：「先知除了在本鄉和自己的家之外，沒有不被尊敬的。」

願他們的筵席在他們面前變為羅網，在他們平安的時候變為圈套。

誰先給了他，使他後來償還呢？

我的百姓啊，要進入內室，關上你的門，躲避片刻，等到憤怒過去。

如同羅網一樣，因為那日子要臨到所有居住在地面上的人。

這要作為棚子，白天可以遮蔭避暑，暴風雨侵襲時，可作藏身處和避難所。

地上的居民哪，驚嚇、陷阱、羅網都臨到你；躲過驚嚇之聲的墜入陷阱，逃離陷阱的又被羅網纏住，因為天上的窗戶都打開，地的根基也震動。

大衛也說：「願他們的宴席變為羅網，變為陷阱，變為絆腳石，作他們的報應。願他們的眼睛昏花，看不見；願你時常彎下他們的腰。」那麼，我再問，他們失足是要他們跌倒嗎？絕對不是！因他們的過犯，救恩反而臨到外邦人，要激起他們嫉妒的心。
