He will be a holy place; for both Israel and Judah he will be a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.

Then the Lord will be a holy place of safety for you. But that’s not true for many people in Israel and Judah. He will be a stone that causes them to trip. He will be a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.

And he will become a sanctuary and a stone of offense and a rock of stumbling to both houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

He will keep you safe. But to Israel and Judah he will be a stone that makes people stumble, a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.

He will be a sanctuary; but for the two houses of Israel, he will be a stone to stumble over and a rock to trip over, and a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

而且是『碰腳的石頭和跌人的磐石』了。他們碰倒了，是因為他們不信真道；這也是被豫定以至於此的。

為甚麼緣故呢？這是因為他們不本着信心而求，反以為可本着行為而求：他們正碰倒在那碰腳的石頭上啊！正如經上所記：『你看，我把一塊碰腳的石頭、令人絆跌的磐石放在錫安，信靠他的必不至於失望。』

西面就給他們祝福，對孩子的母親馬利亞說：『看吧，這孩子被設立、必使以色列中許多人跌倒、許多人復起，也必做辯論的對象，將許多人心裏的意念揭露出來；

因此主永恆主這樣說：『看哪，我在錫安放置一塊石頭、一塊片碞石、為根基、一塊寶貴的房角石，奠得很穩固：『信靠的人必不至於着急。』

因此你要說，「永恆主這麼說：我雖將以色列全家遠遠地遷移到列國，雖使他們分散在列邦，我還要在他們所到的列邦中小規模地做他們的聖所。」

上帝是我們的避難所、我們的力量、我們患難中的幫助、隨時隨地可得到的。所以地雖起了改變，我們也不怕；山雖搖動到海心，我們也不驚；

他必向惡人下炭火跟硫磺雨；必有焚燒的風做他們杯中的分。

永恆主耶和華的名是堅固的譙樓；義人奔入，便得安穩。

就跟他格格不入。耶穌對他們說：『神言人除了在他家鄉和他本家之外，沒有不受尊敬的。』

願他們的筵席在他們面前變為機檻；願他們的平安祭筵變為誘餌。

誰先給了他，使他報答人呢？』

我的人民哪，去進你的臥房，關上門，藏匿片時哦，等到神怒過去。

因為那日子總必臨到住全地上一切的人。

白日可以使人得陰涼避炎熱，也可以作為避難所和隱匿處、以躲避狂風暴雨或霖雨。

地上的居民哪，恐怖、陷坑、機檻、都臨到你身上了！將來那躲避恐怖聲的、必墜入陷坑；那從陷坑中上來的、必被機檻纏住；因為高天的罅隙都開了，地的根基也震動了。

大衛也說：『願他們的筵席對他們成了網羅，成了機檻，成了絆跌物，又成了報應；願他們的眼昏矇、不能看見；願你使他們的脊背總是彎屈卑服。』那麼我要說，難道他們猶太人失了腳，是要全然跌倒麼？斷乎不是。我乃是說，因他們的過犯、拯救便臨到了外國人，好激動他們的羨妒。
