He will be a holy place; for both Israel and Judah he will be a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.

Then the Lord will be a holy place of safety for you. But that’s not true for many people in Israel and Judah. He will be a stone that causes them to trip. He will be a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.

And he will become a sanctuary and a stone of offense and a rock of stumbling to both houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

He will keep you safe. But to Israel and Judah he will be a stone that makes people stumble, a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.

He will be a sanctuary; but for the two houses of Israel, he will be a stone to stumble over and a rock to trip over, and a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

又說：作了絆腳的石頭，跌人的磐石。他們既不順從，就在道理上絆跌；他們這樣絆跌也是預定的。

這是甚麼緣故呢？是因為他們不憑着信心求，只憑着行為求；他們正跌在那絆腳石上。就如經上所記：我在錫安放一塊絆腳的石頭，跌人的磐石；信靠他的人必不至於羞愧。

西面給他們祝福，又對孩子的母親馬利亞說：「這孩子被立，是要叫以色列中許多人跌倒，許多人興起；又要作毀謗的話柄，叫許多人心裏的意念顯露出來；你自己的心也要被刀刺透。」

所以，主耶和華如此說：看哪，我在錫安放一塊石頭作為根基，是試驗過的石頭，是穩固根基，寶貴的房角石；信靠的人必不着急。

所以你當說：『耶和華如此說：我雖將以色列全家遠遠遷移到列國中，將他們分散在列邦內，我還要在他們所到的列邦，暫作他們的聖所。』

神是我們的避難所，是我們的力量，是我們在患難中隨時的幫助。所以，地雖改變，山雖搖動到海心，

他要向惡人密布網羅；有烈火、硫磺、熱風，作他們杯中的分。

耶和華的名是堅固臺；義人奔入便得安穩。

他們就厭棄他。耶穌對他們說：「大凡先知，除了本地本家之外，沒有不被人尊敬的。」

願他們的筵席在他們面前變為網羅，在他們平安的時候變為機檻。

誰是先給了他，使他後來償還呢？

我的百姓啊，你們要來進入內室，關上門，隱藏片時，等到忿怒過去。

因為那日子要這樣臨到全地上一切居住的人。

必有亭子，白日可以得蔭避暑，也可以作為藏身之處，躲避狂風暴雨。

地上的居民哪，恐懼、陷坑、網羅都臨近你。躲避恐懼聲音的必墜入陷坑；從陷坑上來的必被網羅纏住；因為天上的窗戶都開了，地的根基也震動了。

大衛也說：願他們的筵席變為網羅，變為機檻，變為絆腳石，作他們的報應。願他們的眼睛昏矇，不得看見；願你時常彎下他們的腰。我且說，他們失腳是要他們跌倒嗎？斷乎不是！反倒因他們的過失，救恩便臨到外邦人，要激動他們發憤。
