They conspire with cunning against your people. Selah.Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;who perished at Endor, who became as dung for the earth.Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,who said,“ Let’s take possession of God’s pasture lands.”My God, make them like tumbleweed, like chaff before the wind.As the fire that burns the forest, as the flame that sets the mountains on fire,so pursue them with your tempest, and terrify them with your storm.Fill their faces with confusion, that they may seek your name, Yahweh.Let them be disappointed and dismayed forever. Yes, let them be confounded and perish;that they may know that you alone, whose name is Yahweh, are the Most High over all the earth.

Yahweh of Armies is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against Yahweh.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Yahweh brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect.The counsel of Yahweh stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses, chariots, and a people more numerous than you, you shall not be afraid of them; for Yahweh your God is with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yahweh, and against his Anointed, saying,

For a child is born to us. A son is given to us; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

What do you plot against Yahweh? He will make a full end. Affliction won’t rise up the second time.For entangled like thorns, and drunken as with their drink, they are consumed utterly like dry stubble.There is one gone out of you, who devises evil against Yahweh, who counsels wickedness.Yahweh says:“ Though they be in full strength, and likewise many, even so they will be cut down, and he shall pass away. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more.

The saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.
