没有信，就不能讨上帝的喜悦，因为到上帝面前来的人必须信有上帝，并且信他会赏赐寻求他的人。

清晨，众人早起往提哥亚的旷野去。出去的时候，约沙法站着说：“犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民哪，要听我说：信靠耶和华—你们的上帝就必站立得稳；信赖他的先知就必亨通。”

不错。他们因为不信，所以被折下来；你因为信，所以立得住。你不可自高，反要战战兢兢。

所以，诸位可以放心，我信上帝怎样对我说，事情也要怎样成就；

暗利用二他连得银子向撒玛买了撒玛利亚山，在山上建城，按着山的原主撒玛的名，给所建的城起名叫撒玛利亚。暗利行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，比他以前所有的王作恶更严重。因为他行了尼八的儿子耶罗波安所行的道，犯他使以色列陷入罪里的那罪，以虚无的神明惹耶和华—以色列的上帝发怒。暗利其余的事，他所做的和所显出的英勇事迹，不都写在《以色列诸王记》上吗？暗利与他祖先同睡，葬在撒玛利亚，他儿子亚哈接续他作王。犹大王亚撒第三十八年，暗利的儿子亚哈登基作以色列王。暗利的儿子亚哈在撒玛利亚作以色列王二十二年。

“这百姓既厌弃西罗亚缓流的水，喜欢利汛以及利玛利的儿子，因此，看哪，主必使亚述王和他的威势如大河翻腾汹涌的水上涨，盖过他们，必上涨超过一切水道，涨过两岸，必冲入犹大，涨溢泛滥，直到颈项。他展开翅膀，遮蔽你的全地。以马内利啊！”

但百夫长信从船长和船主，不信保罗所说的。

犹大王亚撒利雅第五十二年，利玛利的儿子比加登基，在撒玛利亚作以色列王二十年。
