人非有信，就不能得神的喜悅；因為到神面前來的人必須信有神，且信他賞賜那尋求他的人。

次日清早，眾人起來往提哥亞的曠野去。出去的時候，約沙法站着說：「猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民哪，要聽我說：信耶和華－你們的神就必立穩；信他的先知就必亨通。」

不錯！他們因為不信，所以被折下來；你因為信，所以立得住；你不可自高，反要懼怕。

所以眾位可以放心，我信神他怎樣對我說，事情也要怎樣成就。

所以，以色列的聖者如此說：因為你們藐視這訓誨的話，倚賴欺壓和乖僻，以此為可靠的，故此，這罪孽在你們身上，好像將要破裂凸出來的高牆，頃刻之間忽然坍塌；要被打碎，好像把窰匠的瓦器打碎，毫不顧惜，甚至碎塊中找不到一片可用以從爐內取火，從池中舀水。

暗利用二他連得銀子向撒瑪買了撒馬利亞山，在山上造城，就按着山的原主撒瑪的名，給所造的城起名叫撒馬利亞。暗利行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，比他以前的列王作惡更甚。因他行了尼八的兒子耶羅波安所行的，犯他使以色列人陷在罪裏的那罪，以虛無的神惹耶和華－以色列神的怒氣。暗利其餘的事和他所顯出的勇力都寫在以色列諸王記上。暗利與他列祖同睡，葬在撒馬利亞。他兒子亞哈接續他作王。猶大王亞撒三十八年，暗利的兒子亞哈登基作了以色列王。暗利的兒子亞哈在撒馬利亞作以色列王二十二年。

「這百姓既厭棄西羅亞緩流的水，喜悅利汛和利瑪利的兒子；因此，主必使大河翻騰的水猛然沖來，就是亞述王和他所有的威勢，必漫過一切的水道，漲過兩岸；必沖入猶大，漲溢氾濫，直到頸項。以馬內利啊，他展開翅膀，遍滿你的地。」

但百夫長信從掌船的和船主，不信從保羅所說的。

猶大王亞撒利雅五十二年，利瑪利的兒子比加在撒馬利亞登基作以色列王二十年。
