But this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“ This invasion will never happen; it will never take place;

Yet this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“‘ It will not take place, it will not happen,

But I am the Lord and King. I say,“‘ “That will not happen. It will not take place.

thus says the Lord God:“‘ It shall not stand, and it shall not come to pass.

This is what the Lord GOD says: It will not happen; it will not occur.

this is what the Lord God says:“ It shall not stand nor shall it come to pass.

thus says the Lord GOD:“ It shall not stand, Nor shall it come to pass.

thus saith the Lord Jehovah, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.

This is what the Lord God says: It will not happen; it will not occur.

Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.

For this reason the sovereign master, the LORD, says:“ It will not take place; it will not happen.

This is what the Lord Yahweh says:“ It shall not stand, neither shall it happen.”

Call your councils of war, but they will be worthless. Develop your strategies, but they will not succeed. For God is with us!”

you spoke long ago by the Holy Spirit through our ancestor David, your servant, saying,‘ Why were the nations so angry? Why did they waste their time with futile plans?The kings of the earth prepared for battle; the rulers gathered together against the Lord and against his Messiah.’“ In fact, this has happened here in this very city! For Herod Antipas, Pontius Pilate the governor, the Gentiles, and the people of Israel were all united against Jesus, your holy servant, whom you anointed.But everything they did was determined beforehand according to your will.

No human wisdom or understanding or plan can stand against the Lord.

Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.I will call a swift bird of prey from the east— a leader from a distant land to come and do my bidding. I have said what I would do, and I will do it.

Who can command things to happen without the Lord’s permission?

And because of your raging against me and your arrogance, which I have heard for myself, I will put my hook in your nose and my bit in your mouth. I will make you return by the same road on which you came.”

But the one who rules in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them.Then in anger he rebukes them, terrifying them with his fierce fury.For the Lord declares,“ I have placed my chosen king on the throne in Jerusalem, on my holy mountain.”

All the people of the earth are nothing compared to him. He does as he pleases among the angels of heaven and among the people of the earth. No one can stop him or say to him,‘ What do you mean by doing these things?’

But the Lord’s plans stand firm forever; his intentions can never be shaken.

I am sending Assyria against a godless nation, against a people with whom I am angry. Assyria will plunder them, trampling them like dirt beneath its feet.But the king of Assyria will not understand that he is my tool; his mind does not work that way. His plan is simply to destroy, to cut down nation after nation.He will say,‘ Each of my princes will soon be a king.We destroyed Calno just as we did Carchemish. Hamath fell before us as Arpad did. And we destroyed Samaria just as we did Damascus.Yes, we have finished off many a kingdom whose gods were greater than those in Jerusalem and Samaria.So we will defeat Jerusalem and her gods, just as we destroyed Samaria with hers.’”After the Lord has used the king of Assyria to accomplish his purposes on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, he will turn against the king of Assyria and punish him— for he is proud and arrogant.

Human defiance only enhances your glory, for you use it as a weapon.
