When Ahaz son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, was king of Judah, King Rezin of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel marched up to fight against Jerusalem, but they could not overpower it.

Ahaz was king of Judah. Rezin was king of Aram. And Pekah was king of Israel. Rezin and Pekah marched up to fight against Jerusalem. But they couldn’t overpower it. Ahaz was the son of Jotham and the grandson of Uzziah. Pekah was the son of Remaliah.

In the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, son of Uzziah, king of Judah, Rezin the king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah the king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to wage war against it, but could not yet mount an attack against it.

When Ahaz, son of Jotham and grandson of Uzziah, was king of Judah, King Rezin of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah, the king of Israel, set out to attack Jerusalem. However, they were unable to carry out their plan.

This took place during the reign of Ahaz, son of Jotham, son of Uzziah king of Judah: Aram’s King Rezin and Israel’s King Pekah son of Remaliah went to fight against Jerusalem, but they were not able to conquer it.

Now it came about in the days of Ahaz, the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Aram and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to wage war against it, but could not conquer it.

是時耶和華使亞蘭王哩汛、及哩馬利子比迦、往攻猶大、

哩馬利子比迦十七年、猶大王約擔子亞哈士即位。

大闢之族、馭下以寛、若示囉之水、其流漫衍、斯民棄之而悅服哩汛及哩馬利子、

故我告眾曰、遠邦之人、宜聽我言、爾雖震怒、戎服備戰、必見傷殘、終歸糜爛、所謀不成、所命不立、蓋上帝實左右我、

爾之人民、施譎謀以害之兮、爾所愛護者、設詭計以傷之兮、曰、莫若絶之、滅其國民、使以色列之名、不復設憶兮、惟彼同心以會議、要盟以叛逆、

其武士長哩馬利子比迦叛、與亞咯、亞哩、基列人五十、同謀、在撒馬利亞宮、弒王篡位。

亞哈士年二十即位、都耶路撒冷、歷十六年、不行善於耶和華前、不繩厥祖大闢之武。從以色列列王所為、鑄偶像、奉事巴力。昔異邦族類、行可惡之事、耶和華為以色列逐之、今亞哈士亦效其尤、在便欣嫩谷焚獻子女、獻祭焚香於崇坵、在高岡之巔、茂林之下。上帝耶和華使亞蘭王擊敗之、虜眾至大馬色、後又使以色列王擊之、戮民無數。猶大族棄列祖之上帝耶和華、故哩馬利子比迦、於一日間、殺其壯士十二萬人。

告之曰哩汛率亞蘭人、與哩馬利子相會、其怒雖烈、不過二火炬之餘燼、僅有微烟、爾勿畏葸、勿喪膽、可安爾心、亞蘭王與以法蓮王、哩馬利子謀攻爾曰、我儕往攻猶大、使其恐懼、奪其土地、立大庇押子為王、然我耶和華云、此謀必不成、亞蘭以大馬色為都、大馬色以哩汛為王、以法蓮以撒馬利亞為都、撒馬利亞以哩馬利子為王、未及六十五載、以法蓮族必敗、國不成國、如爾不信、亦弗能恆存。

猶大國烏西亞、約擔、亞哈士、希西家、相繼在位時、亞麼士子以賽亞、以猶大耶路撒冷之事、得之默示者筆於書。
