Rouse the warriors! Let all the fighting men draw near and attack.Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weakling say,“ I am strong!”Come quickly, all you nations from every side, and assemble there. Bring down your warriors, Lord!“ Let the nations be roused; let them advance into the Valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the nations on every side.Swing the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, trample the grapes, for the winepress is full and the vats overflow— so great is their wickedness!”Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.The sun and moon will be darkened, and the stars no longer shine.The Lord will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the heavens will tremble. But the Lord will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel.

For the Lord has a day of vengeance, a year of retribution, to uphold Zion’s cause.

He said:“ The Lord roars from Zion and thunders from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds dry up, and the top of Carmel withers.”

According to what they have done, so will he repay wrath to his enemies and retribution to his foes; he will repay the islands their due.

who say,‘ Keep away; don’t come near me, for I am too sacred for you!’ Such people are smoke in my nostrils, a fire that keeps burning all day.“ See, it stands written before me: I will not keep silent but will pay back in full; I will pay it back into their laps—both your sins and the sins of your ancestors,” says the Lord.“ Because they burned sacrifices on the mountains and defied me on the hills, I will measure into their laps the full payment for their former deeds.”
