This is what the Lord says:“ Heaven is My throne and the earth is the footstool for My feet. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest?

耶和华如此说：“天是我的座位；地是我的脚凳。你们要为我造何等的殿宇？哪里是我安息的地方呢？”

耶和华如此说：“天是我的座位；地是我的脚凳。你们能为我造怎样的殿宇呢？哪里是我安歇的地方呢？

耶和华说：“天是我的宝座，地是我的脚凳，你们要为我造怎样的殿宇？哪里可作我的安歇之处？

耶和华这样说：“天是我的宝座，地是我的脚凳；你们要在哪里为我建造殿宇呢？怎样的地方才是我安息的所在呢？”

耶和华如此说：“天是我的宝座，地是我的脚凳。你们要为我建造的殿宇在哪里呢？我安歇的地方在哪里呢？”

耶和華這樣說：“天是我的寶座，地是我的腳凳；你們要在哪裡為我建造殿宇呢？怎樣的地方才是我安息的所在呢？”

永恆主這麼說：『天是我的座位，地是我的腳凳；你們要在哪裏為我建殿呢？哪裏是我安居所的地方呢？

耶和華如此說：「天是我的寶座，地是我的腳凳。你們要為我建造的殿宇在哪裡呢？我安歇的地方在哪裡呢？」

耶和華曰、天乃我坐位、地乃我足几、爾將為我建若何之室、以何地為我安息之所乎、

耶和華曰、天乃我坐位、地乃我足凳、爾曹何殿以容我、何地以安我乎。

主如是云、天乃我之寶座、地乃我之足凳、爾曹可為我建何殿、我駐蹕之所、可在何地、

This is what the Lord says:“ Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?

The Lord says,“ Heaven is my throne. The earth is under my control. So how could you ever build a house for me? Where would my resting place be?

Thus says the Lord:“ Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest?

This is what the Lord says:“ Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Could you build me a temple as good as that? Could you build me such a resting place?

This is what the LORD says: Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool. Where could you possibly build a house for me? And where would my resting place be?

Thus says the Lord:“ Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest?

Thus saith Jehovah, Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what manner of house will ye build unto me? and what place shall be my rest?

This is what the Lord says: Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. What house could you possibly build for Me? And what place could be My home?

Thus saith the LORD, The heaven[ is] my throne, and the earth[ is] my footstool: where[ is] the house that ye build unto me? and where[ is] the place of my rest?

This is what the LORD says:“ The heavens are my throne and the earth is my footstool. Where then is the house you will build for me? Where is the place where I will rest?

Yahweh says,“ Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build to me? Where will I rest?

But I say to you, take no oath at all, neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God,nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet, nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.

However, the Most High does not dwell in houses made by human hands; as the prophet says:‘ Heaven is My throne, And the earth is the footstool of My feet; What kind of house will you build for Me?’ says the Lord,‘ Or what place is there for My rest?Was it not My hand that made all these things?’

“ But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You, how much less this house which I have built!

The God who made the world and everything that is in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made by hands;

Let’s go into His dwelling place; Let’s worship at His footstool.

Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and yet you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one must worship.”Jesus* said to her,“ Believe Me, woman, that a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.

“ Go and say to My servant David,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ Should you build Me a house for My dwelling?For I have not dwelt in a house since the day I brought up the sons of Israel from Egypt, even to this day; rather, I have been moving about in a tent, that is, in a dwelling place.Wherever I have gone with all the sons of Israel, did I speak a word with one of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people Israel, saying,‘ Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’ ” ’

The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord’s throne is in heaven; His eyes see, His eyelids test the sons of mankind.

Do not trust in deceptive words, saying,‘ This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.’For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly practice justice between a person and his neighbor,if you do not oppress the stranger, the orphan, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor follow other gods to your own ruin,then I will let you live in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.“ Behold, you are trusting in deceptive words to no avail.Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, offer sacrifices to Baal, and follow other gods that you have not known,then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say,‘ We are saved!’— so that you may do all these abominations?Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of robbers in your sight? Behold, I Myself have seen it,” declares the Lord.

Then King David rose to his feet and said,“ Listen to me, my brothers and my people; I had intended to build a permanent home for the ark of the covenant of the Lord and for the footstool of our God. So I had made preparations to build it.

And the one who swears by the temple, swears both by the temple and by Him who dwells in it.And the one who swears by heaven, swears both by the throne of God and by Him who sits upon it.

“ But will God really dwell with mankind on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You; how much less this house which I have built!

Exalt the Lord our God And worship at His holy hill, For the Lord our God is holy.

But He responded and said to them,“ Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.”

For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My name shall be great among the nations, and in every place frankincense is going to be offered to My name, and a grain offering that is pure; for My name shall be great among the nations,” says the Lord of armies.
