我岂不因这些事施行惩罚吗？像这样的国家，我岂能不报复呢？这是耶和华说的。

看哪，这些都写在我面前。我必不静默，却要施行报应，将你们和你们祖先的罪孽全都报应在后人身上；因为他们在山上烧香，在冈上亵渎我，我要按他们先前所行的，报应在他们身上；这是耶和华说的。”

万军之耶和华开启我的耳朵：“这罪孽直到你们死，断不得赦免！”这是万军之主耶和华说的。

这样，你们就证明自己是杀害先知的人的子孙了。你们去充满你们祖宗的恶贯吧！你们这些蛇啊，毒蛇的孽种啊，怎能逃脱地狱的惩罚呢？所以，我差遣先知、智慧人和文士到你们这里来，有的你们要杀害，要钉十字架；有的你们要在会堂里鞭打，从这城追逼到那城，如此，地上所有义人流的血都归到你们身上，从义人亚伯的血起，直到你们在圣所和祭坛中间所杀的巴拉加的儿子撒迦利亚的血为止。我实在告诉你们，这一切的罪都要归到这世代了。”

你们幸存的人必因自己的罪孽在敌人之地衰残，也要因祖先的罪孽衰残。

约沙法效法他父亲亚撒所行的道，不偏离左右，行耶和华眼中看为正的事。只是丘坛还没有废去，百姓仍在那里献祭烧香。

未曾在山上吃祭物，未曾向以色列家的偶像举目；未曾污辱邻舍的妻，也未曾在妇人的经期间亲近她；
