Will You restrain Yourself because of these things, O Lord? Will You hold Your peace, and afflict us very severely?

耶和華歟、勢既如此、爾猶容忍乎、爾仍默然、重苦我儕乎、

耶和華與、毋遐棄予、毋扑責予、毋屯爾膏。

主歟、事有若是、主猶自忍乎、主猶緘默、使我受苦至極乎、

After all this, Lord, will you hold yourself back? Will you keep silent and punish us beyond measure?

Lord, won’t you help us even after everything that’s happened? Will you keep silent and punish us more than we can stand?

Will you restrain yourself at these things, O Lord? Will you keep silent, and afflict us so terribly?

After all this, Lord, must you still refuse to help us? Will you continue to be silent and punish us?

Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O Jehovah? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?

In light of all this, how can you still hold back, LORD? How can you be silent and continue to humiliate us?

Will you hold yourself back for these things, Yahweh? Will you keep silent and punish us very severely?

“ I have held My peace a long time, I have been still and restrained Myself. Now I will cry like a woman in labor, I will pant and gasp at once.

O God, how long will the adversary reproach? Will the enemy blaspheme Your name forever?Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? Take it out of Your bosom and destroy them.

Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God!

Remember this, that the enemy has reproached, O Lord, And that a foolish people has blasphemed Your name.Oh, do not deliver the life of Your turtledove to the wild beast! Do not forget the life of Your poor forever.

Then the Angel of the Lord answered and said,“ O Lord of hosts, how long will You not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which You were angry these seventy years?”

How long, Lord? Will You be angry forever? Will Your jealousy burn like fire?

Why do You stand afar off, O Lord? Why do You hide in times of trouble?

And they cried with a loud voice, saying,“ How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”

Restore us, O God; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved!O Lord God of hosts, How long will You be angry Against the prayer of Your people?

How long, Lord? Will You hide Yourself forever? Will Your wrath burn like fire?Remember how short my time is; For what futility have You created all the children of men?What man can live and not see death? Can he deliver his life from the power of the grave? SelahLord, where are Your former lovingkindnesses, Which You swore to David in Your truth?Remember, Lord, the reproach of Your servants— How I bear in my bosom the reproach of all the many peoples,With which Your enemies have reproached, O Lord, With which they have reproached the footsteps of Your anointed.
