Then his people recalled the days of old, the days of Moses and his people— where is he who brought them through the sea, with the shepherd of his flock? Where is he who set his Holy Spirit among them,

Then his people remembered what he did long ago. They recalled the days of Moses and his people. They asked,“ Where is the God who brought Israel through the Red Sea? Moses led them as the shepherd of his flock. Where is the God who put his Holy Spirit among them?

Then he remembered the days of old, of Moses and his people. Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put in the midst of them his Holy Spirit,

Then they remembered those days of old when Moses led his people out of Egypt. They cried out,“ Where is the one who brought Israel through the sea, with Moses as their shepherd? Where is the one who sent his Holy Spirit to be among his people?

Then he remembered the days of the past, the days of Moses and his people. Where is he who brought them out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put his Holy Spirit among the flock?

Then His people remembered the days of old, of Moses. Where is He who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit in the midst of them,

Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying:“ Where is He who brought them up out of the sea With the shepherd of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within them,

Then he remembered the days of old, Moses,[ and] his people,[ saying], Where[ is] he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where[ is] he that put his holy Spirit within him?

His people remembered the ancient times. Where is the one who brought them up out of the sea, along with the shepherd of his flock? Where is the one who placed his holy Spirit among them,

Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying,“ Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put his Holy Spirit among them?”

I will come down and speak with you there, and I will take some of the power of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them. They will share the burden of the people with you so that you will not have to carry it alone. (niv)

You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron. (niv)

Then the Lord came down in the cloud and spoke with him, and he took some of the power of the Spirit that was on him and put it on the seventy elders. When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied— but did not do so again. (niv)

‘ This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.’ (niv)

But Moses replied,“ Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!” (niv)

That day the Lord saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore. (niv)

and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. (niv)

Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. (niv)

Finally, Daniel came into my presence and I told him the dream.( He is called Belteshazzar, after the name of my god, and the spirit of the holy gods is in him.) (niv)

He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be mercifulto Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors.” (niv)

So he said to me,“ This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:‘ Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. (niv)

Moses said to the Lord,“ Then the Egyptians will hear about it! By your power you brought these people up from among them.And they will tell the inhabitants of this land about it. They have already heard that you, Lord, are with these people and that you, Lord, have been seen face to face, that your cloud stays over them, and that you go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.If you put all these people to death, leaving none alive, the nations who have heard this report about you will say,‘ The Lord was not able to bring these people into the land he promised them on oath, so he slaughtered them in the wilderness.’“ Now may the Lord’s strength be displayed, just as you have declared:‘ The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.’In accordance with your great love, forgive the sin of these people, just as you have pardoned them from the time they left Egypt until now.”The Lord replied,“ I have forgiven them, as you asked.Nevertheless, as surely as I live and as surely as the glory of the Lord fills the whole earth,not one of those who saw my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times—not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it.But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.Since the Amalekites and the Canaanites are living in the valleys, turn back tomorrow and set out toward the desert along the route to the Red Sea.” (niv)

Remember how fleeting is my life. For what futility you have created all humanity!Who can live and not see death, or who can escape the power of the grave?Lord, where is your former great love, which in your faithfulness you swore to David?Remember, Lord, how your servant has been mocked, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the nations, (niv)

But Moses sought the favor of the Lord his God.“ Lord,” he said,“ why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand?Why should the Egyptians say,‘ It was with evil intent that he brought them out, to kill them in the mountains and to wipe them off the face of the earth’? Turn from your fierce anger; relent and do not bring disaster on your people. (niv)

You gave your good Spirit to instruct them. You did not withhold your manna from their mouths, and you gave them water for their thirst. (niv)

I thought about the former days, the years of long ago;I remembered my songs in the night. My heart meditated and my spirit asked:“ Will the Lord reject forever? Will he never show his favor again?Has his unfailing love vanished forever? Has his promise failed for all time?Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?”Then I thought,“ To this I will appeal: the years when the Most High stretched out his right hand.I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. (niv)

When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the Lord your God and obey him.For the Lord your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your ancestors, which he confirmed to them by oath. (niv)

I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done. (niv)

Look down from heaven and see, from your lofty throne, holy and glorious. Where are your zeal and your might? Your tenderness and compassion are withheld from us. (niv)

Awake, awake, arm of the Lord, clothe yourself with strength! Awake, as in days gone by, as in generations of old. Was it not you who cut Rahab to pieces, who pierced that monster through?Was it not you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, who made a road in the depths of the sea so that the redeemed might cross over? They did not ask,‘ Where is the Lord, who brought us up out of Egypt and led us through the barren wilderness, through a land of deserts and ravines, a land of drought and utter darkness, a land where no one travels and no one lives?’ (niv)

“‘ But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors— their unfaithfulness and their hostility toward me,which made me hostile toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies— then when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they pay for their sin,I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.For the land will be deserted by them and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them. They will pay for their sins because they rejected my laws and abhorred my decrees.Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them or abhor them so as to destroy them completely, breaking my covenant with them. I am the Lord their God.But for their sake I will remember the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought out of Egypt in the sight of the nations to be their God. I am the Lord.’” (niv)
