I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem,[ which] shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,

耶路撒冷城垣、必置邏卒以察之、凡籲耶和華者、當晝夜不息、求之不已、待其建造耶路撒冷、使輝耀於天下。

耶路撒冷歟、我於爾城上、已置守望者、使之終日終夜不緘默、凡爾曹籲主者、毋靜默、

I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest,

Jerusalem, I have stationed guards on your walls. They must never be silent day or night. You who call out to the Lord must not give yourselves any rest.

On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the Lord in remembrance, take no rest,

O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen on your walls; they will pray day and night, continually. Take no rest, all you who pray to the Lord.

Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen on your walls; they will never be silent, day or night. There is no rest for you, who remind the LORD.

On your walls, Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who profess the Lord, take no rest for yourselves;

Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen on your walls; they will never be silent, day or night. There is no rest for you, who remind the Lord.

I post watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they should keep praying all day and all night. You who pray to the LORD, don’t be silent!

I have set watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem. They will never be silent day nor night. You who call on Yahweh, take no rest,

Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.

His watchmen[ are] blind: they are all ignorant, they[ are] all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.

Pray without ceasing.

Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked[ man] shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.Again, When a righteous[ man] doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous[ man], that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

Also I set watchmen over you,[ saying], Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.

Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if[ he ask] a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall[ your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Remember thy congregation,[ which] thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance,[ which] thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

Behold, bless ye the LORD, all[ ye] servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD.Lift up your hands[ in] the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.

And he appointed, according to the order of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the porters also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.

And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that[ is] unprofitable for you.

Remember this,[ that] the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and[ that] the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.

For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp[ that] burneth.

And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me.

And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more,[ Thou] Son of David, have mercy on me.

Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

And before the throne[ there was] a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne,[ were] four beasts full of eyes before and behind.And the first beast[ was] like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast[ was] like a flying eagle.And the four beasts had each of them six wings about[ him]; and[ they were] full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

And he spake a parable unto them[ to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord,[ thou] Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast[ it] to dogs.And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.

The watchmen that go about the city found me:[ to whom I said], Saw ye him whom my soul loveth?

And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,The LORD[ is] longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing[ the guilty], visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth[ generation].Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.
